HAWKS CHRISTMAS PARTY BY GEORGE BROWN
There was no business meeting this month. Instead we had the annual Hawks Christmas party, which was a great success. The event was held at Richie’s Café; we had a choice of several items which we could choose from. I selected the chicken fried steak. I found the meal delicious, and the service was excellent. We owe our Board of Directors a vote of thanks for putting this event together for our enjoyment. Roman Eble made some pictures at the party and they are included below.
TIPS YOU CAN USE BY GEORGE BROWN
This month’s tip will be another book report. This report is actually a report on several books, any one of which would make a nice Christmas gift for a friend or family member. These books are written by Bill O ’Riley, and are all part of his killing series. They include Killing Lincoln, Killing Kennedy, Killing Jesus, Killing Patton, Killing Regan, Killing the Rising Sun, Killing England, and now Killing the SS. I have read most of these books and think they are all a good read. Bill O ’Riley is an artist with words. In Killing Kennedy he described John Kennedy’s wartime experiences. He was a PT boat commander whose boat was rammed by a Japanese destroyer and sunk. The crew made it safely to an island, but they were stranded there. O’ Riley describes how Kennedy swam away from the island out to the ship channel, trying to attract the attention of an American Navy ship. He was out there for hours, and he did that for two days. His vivid description causes the reader to imagine that he is out there in the water with Kennedy looking for help. All these books in the killing series are well worth reading and would make nice Christmas gifts.

The First National Bank just called to confirm our monthly calendar of meetings. I looked at the website and called back to confirm the first Thursday of EACH month. If at the January meeting members decide not to meet each month then I will need to reverse that. The bank likes to have our meetings on their calendar so that date will not be lost to another event.

Friends, Larry Murphy has resigned from the RSO/Hawks board and Hawks in general for personal reasons. I have assumed his duties in compiling the Wednesday shooters participation data. Larry had also been developing committee agendas and keeping detail minutes, as well as compiling the Wednesday participation data on Excel.
According to the by-laws 6.04
Chair and Vice-Chair
6.04. One member of each committee will be designated as the committee chair, and another member of each committee will be designated as the vice-chair. The chair and vice-chair will be appointed by the president.
Accordingly, I am appointing Wayne Scott as Shooting Committee Acting Chair.
I will develop agendas for committee meeting with your input. I trust someone will volunteer to be committed to keeping minutes of committee meetings. Fortunately, most of the committee work has been done for the time being. The only thing that may need tweaking is the time of day we shoot on Wednesday. Think about that some more about the time and how it affects the breakfast group. At one time early on we were eating breakfast early and when we finished we gathered at the range and had more time to shoot. That worked well for a while.

Hey, Guys we have a tradition 1st is HELP. WE HELP young men and women with scholarships, we HELP put up flags at the green in our town, we HELP youngsters to handle firearm safety, we HELP our police in traffic to insure safe parades runs, Halloween in the town, Autumn Trails, ETC., WE HELP with eyes and ears for Art and Craft Shows and the Gun shows. We pass the hat for our waitress and we pass the hat for our Police. We eat breakfast every Wednesday at the same time ALL TOGETHER WE SHOOT AFTER BREAKFAST!!! We send get well cards to our sick BROTHERS!!!
I ask one question ARE WE STILL ONE CLUB WITH TRADITIONS??? If this is NOT so then let me know. Thanks for hearing me out. If I am out of line let me know.

I have read this email from Dennis over and over trying to fine a flaw. I can't. Here's a guy on his one of many death beds, thinking about us guys and what we mean to each other. I think the term is "dead on balls" (from My Cousin Vinny).
Item 1.We help young men and women with scholarships, some are more zealous about this program than others, and that's ok.
Item 2. Some of our guys like the satisfaction of making our city presentable on special days, and that's great.
Item 3. This is a no brainer, what seasoned gun enthusiast wouldn't show a youthful shooter the proper and safe way to handle a firearm? Wonder how many of these rag-tag mass shooters, had they been shown the proper purpose of a gun, taken hunting, encouraged at the range or, merely guided in the right direction would be where they are now?
Item 4. SOME of us, VIP's do this because we WANT to, because it's the right thing to do and because it's appreciated by our PD. Again, ain't for everyone especially crippled old fat man in a roller chair.
Item 5. We have never had a real problem at the gun shows or the art market, maybe it's those ever present blue shirts with the emblem on the back. We have become a symbol of stability and respect in our town. Yet, again I have seen our guys at these events in shorts Hawaiian shirts and sandals, and that's ok, if you want to be a bystander.
Item 6. Passing the hat? Why does this get our nickers in a wad? HAWKS (c/7) cannot support charities ---Jinny is not a charity, all we're doing is leaving her a large tip. The cops aren't a charity, either; all we're doing is saying "thank you" for watching our backs. Donate if you want or just pass the hat on, again, your choice.
Item 7. Breakfast and Shooting, at the January meeting I intend to move that we make 7:30 to 8:45 the official breakfast of champions. When you've cleaned up your plate you may be excused to go to the range and shoot for as long as you want, or go to Walmart, chase cows, throw water balloons at Chuck Louttit, your choice. Eating in shifts is not fair to Richie's staff; we are making their job a whole lot harder.
So, I ask you are we a band of brothers with traditions, as Dennis asked or are we a bunch of knit pickers ready to bitch at a moment’s notice? Since I've been home from the hospital I've had no less than a dozen of our guys offer to do anything they could to help Denise and me. Dennis, buddy, I'm with you.
I love all you guys and miss the hell outta you.

We haven't shot after breakfast for about two years, the Shooting Committee changed that.
This is the same dedicated committee that has put together a very successful shooting program over the past several years.
The same committee that voted to move the Shooting time to allow for more time to shoot.
Imagine doing that in a gun club, making shooting more important than eating breakfast.
So. The only tradition that has changed. Breakfast time.
My question, why not change the name to Hawks Breakfast Club.
It always amazes me that an appointed committee gets criticized for trying new things.

“Wexton bill would use credit card data to track firearms purchases,” The Washington Post reported Friday. “Congressional gridlock on gun legislation led Rep. Jennifer Wexton (D-Va.) to seek creative ways to prevent gun violence.” If by “creative” they mean unhampered by concepts of limited Constitutional government and unalienable rights, they have a point. Then again, we are dealing with totalitarian wannabes, and fresh off a manipulated demographics victory for Democrats, Virginia is undergoing an eye-rolling gun-grabber feeding frenzy.
Wexton says she “wants banks and credit card companies to flag purchases that could signal a person is preparing to carry out a mass shooting.” You know, kind of like the Department of Pre-Crime, but this one will rely on the type of economic fascism the power zealots refer to by the euphemism “public/private partnership.” Those “partners” like Citigroup and Bank of America, who is banking on disarmament, will be glad to help.
And it won’t be just gun purchases that are flagged. “An effective program,” we are told, “would have to track credit card purchases of guns and ammunition as well as equipment such as body armor and night-vision goggles across multiple retailers. Because why else would anyone NEED such items…? Right?
”Naturally, Everytown, that never saw an infringement it didn’t try to ram down gun owners’ throats, is all on board with the idea. And just as naturally, interested flacks like” Joseph Moreno, a former federal prosecutor and FBI consultant who is a partner at the financial services law firm Cadwalader,” is out there selling this abomination as “moderate middle ground that privacy and Second Amendment advocates should be able to meet in the middle on.”
That’s grabberspeak for anyone who is against it must be an extremist, designed to appeal to the ignorant and to “moderate Republicans.” That means anyone against it can now be smeared as exactly the type of “lone wolf domestic terrorist homegrown violent extremist” Wexton’s bill, H.R. 5132, pretends it can deter.
IRS WARNS TAXPAYERS OF GIFT CARD SCAM SUBMITTED BY AL ANDERSON

- • Someone posing as an IRS agent calls the taxpayer and informs them their identity has been stolen.
- • The fake agent says the taxpayer’s identify was used to open fake bank accounts.
- • The caller tells the taxpayer to buy gift cards from various stores and await further instructions.
- • The scammer then contacts the taxpayer again telling them to provide the gift cards’ access numbers.
According to the IRS, here’s how people can know if it is really the IRS calling. The IRS does not:
- • Call to demand immediate payment using a specific payment method such as a prepaid debit card, gift card or wire transfer.
- • Generally, the IRS will first mail a bill to any taxpayer who owes taxes.
- • Demand that taxpayers pay taxes without the opportunity to question or appeal the amount they owe. All taxpayers should be aware of their rights.
- • Threaten to bring in local police, immigration officers or other law-enforcement to have the taxpayer arrested for not paying.
- • Revoke the taxpayer’s driver’s license, business licenses, or immigration status.
If you believe you’ve been targeted by a scammer, you should:
Contact the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration to report a phone scam.

19 Senior Discounts You Did Not Know You Could Get MISSOURI JUDGE RULES “SAFETY” OVERRIDES RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS SUBMITTED BY BILL ROGERS Dean Weingarten A Democrat Missouri District Court judge, appointed after the lawsuit was filed, has ruled the lawsuit against the University of Missouri for violating the new Missouri Constitutional provision protecting the right to keep and bear arms, does not apply to the University. The judge claims he followed the requirements for “strict scrutiny” when he did so. On August 5, 2014, the citizens of Missouri passed a Constitutional amendment to strengthen the protection of the right to keep and bear arms in Missouri. From ballotpedia.org: That the right of every citizen to keep and bear arms, ammunition, and accessories typical to the normal function of such arms, in defense of his home, person, family and property, or when lawfully summoned in aid of the civil power, shall not be questioned. The rights guaranteed by this section shall be unalienable. Any restriction on these rights shall be subject to strict scrutiny and the state of Missouri shall be obligated to uphold these rights and shall under no circumstances decline to protect against their infringement. Nothing in this section shall be construed to prevent the general assembly from enacting general laws which limit the rights of convicted violent felons or those duly adjudged mentally infirm by a court of competent jurisdiction. On 19 September 2015, Professor of law Royce Barondes filed a lawsuit, based on the new amendment, challenging the complete ban of firearms on the University of Missouri campus, except for those granted special privileges by the University administration. On April 22, 2016, Democrat Governor Nixon appointed Democrat politician Jeff Harris to the position of judge in the 13th Circuit. Harris was Governor Nixon's policy director at the time of his appointment. Some jockeying for the venue occurred. The defendants attempted to move the case to Federal court. The Missouri Attorney General sided with Barondes. Then the case was moved to Boone County from Cole county in Missouri, in 2016. Three successive Missouri Attorney Generals have weighed in on the case in support of Professor Barondes position. On 18 November 2019, Judge Harris issued an opinion that the University rule banning all guns on campus, except for those granted the privilege by the University administration, was Constitutional under the Constitution of the state of Missouri. Judge Harris relied on the testimony of two University police chiefs for most of his ruling. From the opinion: Based largely on the testimony from law enforcement, the Court finds that the Rule satisfies strict scrutiny and is constitutional. The University presented unambiguous and essentially unrebutted testimony in support of the Rule from two police chiefs with nearly 70 years of law enforcement experience, backed by statistical evidence. In the opinion, there did not seem to be any reference to any statistical evidence presented by the University police chiefs. It appears they simply presented their opinions. The University police chiefs are not neutral parties. The University rules grant them a privilege on campus no one else is allowed. They and a few other University employees have the sole privilege of being armed. In addition, their jobs depend on pleasing their superiors, who have made their opposition to allowing arms on campus clear and unequivocal. The police chief's testimony is full of speculation, conjecture, and hypotheticals. The police chief's testimony does not qualify as data, or as a scientific study, or as unbiased. It is simply their opinion, which may have been colored by personal gain and fear of retribution from their employer. The University cited statistical claims made by anti-Second Amendment partisan Dr. John Donohue. There are several bizarre claims made in the opinion by Judge Harris. Judge Harris claims the rule is “narrowly tailored to achieve a compelling interest”. It is hard to see how a complete ban on firearms, with the minor exception of those approved of by the University administration, is “narrowly tailored”. If the rule is “narrowly tailored” to promote “public safety” then a state law, banning all ownership and carry of firearms in the State of Missouri, would also be “narrowly tailored” thus rendering the protection of the right in the Missouri Constitution meaningless. It is very difficult to believe the judge examined less restrictive measures, as he is required to do under strict scrutiny. The Judge writes that banning firearms possession from all but those in approved programs or persons in the line of duty is less restrictive than banning felons from possession, even though banning possession of firearms by felons is explicitly allowed by the Missouri amendment. The Judge writes that minimizing theft on its property, including theft of firearms, is a “compelling interest”. By this standard, the University would be authorized to prohibit all private property on its campus. That would minimize the theft of private property. The Judge writes, citing a federal case, that the right to arms is less protected outside the home than inside. The case will likely be appealed.

Amen!” Along with the laughter and nodding of heads from the other customers nearby, I heard a woman at the next table remark, "That's what's wrong with this country. Kids today don't even know how to pray, asking god for ice cream when others go hungry. Hearing this, my grandson burst into tears and asked me, "Did I do it wrong Grandpa? Is God mad at me?” After I assured him that he had done a terrific job and that God was certainly not mad at him, an elderly gentleman approached the table. He winked at my grandson and said, "I happen to know that God thought that was a great prayer." "Really?" my grandson asked. "Cross my heart," the man replied. Then, in a theatrical whisper, he added (indicating the woman whose remark had started this whole thing), "Too bad she never asks God for ice cream.” A little ice cream is sometimes good for the soul."
Naturally, I bought my grandchildren ice cream at the end of the meal. My grandson stared at his ice cream for a moment, and then he did something I will remember the rest of my life. He picked up his sundae and, without a word, walked over and placed it in front of the woman. With a big smile he looked her in the eye and told her, "Here ma'am, this is for you, you grouchy old bitch. You must be a Democrat. Shove it up your ass and cool off!” Kinda brings a tear to your eye, doesn't it?

Rob Tubbs opened the meeting with both pledges, followed by Mike Briggs giving the invocation and Prayer requests for Ken Watts and Ken Pescod
Larry Murphy took the floor and presented shooting achievement certificates to the winners and runners up of the shooting tournament, this past September. After the Certificates were handed out Larry acknowledged Ron and Cheryl Smith for their continuous work on the tournament and the Wednesday morning shoots. Continuing on, Larry presented the gifts and prizes purchased with the $3.00 donations from the shooters every Wednesday morning. Many participants received gift certificates to Village Gun & Pawn, oil changes from Texas Country Ford and boxes of 22 lr bullets. The awards were NOT based on scores but on attendance week after week.
George was asked for a Website report and George responded there was nothing new to report.
Ron M. was asked to present the HAWK of the Year, who, deservingly, was our friend “Chuckles”, Chuck Knox, who was taken, completely, by surprise.
Ron Continued on with the Secretaries’ report, and begun with a thank you to Schwabby for bringing the desert for the evening, then offered and showed the new caps which are black, both all-weather for $12 and summer for $10. He then described a new shirt with an embroidered HAWKS emblem, for $25 and a two week delivery with a one shirt minimum.
Ron, then, re-announced the Christmas Party for December 5th. at Richie’s, please confirm for the members and wives before the last week in November, to alert Ricky. Ron finalized by reading the “HAWKS Plan for 2020” which was sent to each member on Friday November 7th by email.
Wayne asked for a range report, to which Jimmy Chiles responded that renewal of the Certified RSOs were due to the NRA and instructions were given as to how to do that on line.
Doug Grantham announced the VIPs new radios were in along with vests with VIP on the back and finished with a plea for additional help with this program. Wendall offered an alternate to the radios in a smart phone with a Zello app. Johnny said he would be sending out a parade route for the Christmas parade.
Johnny announced the concert, although sparsely attended still raised $550 for the scholarship fund.
Wayne acknowledged the veterans in the room, Mike reminded the members of the programs offered by the Winnsboro schools to honor the veterans.
In finalizing, Wayne offered Jimmy Miller’s shirts and caps, Bert commented on the Pershing and Patton days, Dennis brought up our old phone response program, Wayne invited guys to come out on Wednesday and hone their shooting skills and Sheriff Castloo asked for support for the Sanctuary County supporting the Second Amendment and to contact our county commissioners to support that resolution. Bert, also, pushed to get support to reopen the Police academy on the NTCC campus which was closed for political reasons.
Wayne asked for help cleaning up and closed the meeting.

HAWKS PLAN FOR 2020 SUBMITTED BY RON MIRANDA
It seems the business meeting has outlived it’s useful existence. In the past three months we have struggled to have 20 members show up. Last month we had 15 and we offered the best speaker we have had this year. We’ve watched Wayne struggle from month to month to try to line up a speaker we felt you would enjoy. The Board, also, discussed that our business meetings have become very redundant. We rarely have discussion where our Treasury is concerned and James, and now, Ron Smith emails all the information necessary for you to stay informed. My reports, as well, have had little to offer in the way of new information and anything you need to know right away can, also be emailed or the Directors can call an emergency meeting for us to decide an issue. The same holds true for the RSO, Webmaster and VIPs reports.
In addition, the Directors have checked the By-Laws and nowhere in their contents is there anything that states we must have a business meeting on certain days or how many we must have. The only firm commitment is our annual meeting which calls for a meeting every September on the first Thursday to hold our election of Directors. While we are meeting to elect Directors, the Board assigned that meeting to adjust any committees that need realigning.
This is the way it COULD shake out:
We would have meetings in, January, March, May, July, September and November.
We would NOT have a meeting in, December (19), February, April, June, August, October and December.
Keep in mind, nothing is in stone we can change on the fly. The by-laws state members must be given not less than 5 days and more than 60 days’ notice if a special meeting is called.
The Board of Directors will continue to meet monthly and continue to handle the club’s business that can be done without member’s approval. The Wednesday Shoot and Breakfast get-togethers will undergo NO changes, either. This will put more emphasis on emails more than ever. Please check your e-mails, often.

Democratic Commissioners Declare Texas County “Second Amendment Sanctuary” SUBMITTED BY BILL ROGERS
The Presidio County Commissioners Court voted unanimously to pass a resolution submitted by residents declaring the county a "Second Amendment sanctuary."

A Commissioners Court in Presidio County passed a resolution today declaring the county to be a “Second Amendment sanctuary.” Three of the four Democratic commissioners that were present at the meeting today, along with the judge, voted unanimously to pass the resolution submitted by residents of the western border county.
The resolution, as read by the judge at the meeting, states: “Be it resolved that the people of Presidio County…. hereby designate Presidio County a Second Amendment sanctuary in order to preserve for the people of, on, and in Presidio County their rights guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States of America. Furthermore, any regulation that violates the Second, Ninth, Tenth, or Fourteenth Amendments to the Constitution of the United States of America shall be regarded by the people of Presidio County to be unconstitutional and therefore by necessity unenforceable and invalid….We the people of Presidio County through this resolution hereby declare our rights, our freedom, and our liberty as guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States of America.”
Although Presidio County has a small population—just a little over 7,000—about 70 residents showed up at the meeting today in support of the resolution.
Lake County Becomes Florida’s First ‘Second Amendment Sanctuary County’ SUBMITTED BY BILL ROGERS

By a 4-0 vote, Lake County, Fla., has become the Sunshine State’s first Second Amendment Sanctuary County, joining a movement that has been spreading across the country.
According to WRBW and WOBL News in Orlando, the County Commission’s unanimous vote on a sanctuary resolution means Lake County residents “are guaranteed their Second Amendment rights.” At that time, David Campbell, a member of the Effingham County, IL commission, explained in a telephone interview how the “2A Sanctuary” movement began in central Illinois. “I basically sat down and wrote a (draft sanctuary) resolution,” he said at the time. “I got the state’s attorney to go along with it and he added some language to it.”
Passage of that resolution set in motion an effort that has now spread to 64 of the state’s 102 counties. The movement had just begun. Presidio County, Texas joined the movement earlier this year. Following the commission vote, the Unified Sportsmen of Florida issued a statement from Executive Director Marion Hammer. She credited support from Lake County Sheriff Payton Grinnell and Commissioner Josh Blake, who introduced the resolution. Blake was quoted by the Daily Commercial stating, “Many Americans have been absolutely shocked to hear recent pronouncements by prominent national candidates who are vying for the presidency of the United States threatening and even outright calling for national gun bans on some of the most popular and commonly owned rifles in this country.”
The full text of the resolution may be read here. He was also quoted by the local Fox News affiliate: “This draws a line in the sand. It doesn't mince words, and I hope it sends a message to what can best be described as the authoritarian control freaks.” “Gun Control activists have been put on notice that Lake County intends to protect the rights, freedom, and liberty guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States of America,” Hammer stated.
She was the first female president of the National Rifle Association and remains active in NRA politics.
The Second Amendment Sanctuary movement began last year, with county sheriffs in various states including New Mexico, Illinois and Washington announcing they would not enforce strict gun control laws they believe to violate the Constitution’s right to keep and bear arms guarantee. One police chief in Washington’s rural city of Republic went before his city council late last year to declare he would not enforce provisions of gun control Initiative 1639, which was passed by just under 60 percent of Evergreen State voters in November 2018. That measure outlaws sale and possession of so-called “semiautomatic assault rifles” by young adults ages 18-20, and also invents a definition for such a firearm that includes every semi-auto rifle ever manufactured by the nature of its mechanics.
The significance of Second Amendment Sanctuary designations cannot be over-stated. County commissioners in the various jurisdictions participating in this movement put themselves up against state gun control laws. Where county sheriffs play the pivotal role is spelled out in the Lake County resolution, where they are described as “the last protectors of the U.S. Constitution” along with “we the people of the United States of America.”
Section 2 of the resolution notes, “The Lake County Board of County Commissioners hereby declares Lake County as a Second Amendment Sanctuary in order to preserve for the People of, on, and in Lake County, their rights guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States of America.”
There is no room for misunderstanding the resolution’s intent. Lake County’s announcement comes at the same time Democrats bent on furthering the gun control agenda have taken the Kentucky governor’s office, the Virginia legislature and other offices. Gun control is also going to be a central issue in the 2020 presidential and congressional races. Anti-gun billionaire Michael Bloomberg reportedly spent $2.5 million to help swing the Virginia legislature to Democrats, according to CNBC, and there’s more money where that came from. Local and regional organizations are also busy raising money on the heels of Tuesday’s election, preparing for a battle royal next year as they attempt to seize the U.S. Senate and White House.

Whereas, the Constitution of the United States is the supreme law of our nation. The Second Amendment to the Constitution states “A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed”; and
Whereas, the Texas Constitution, Article 1, Section 23 states “Every citizen shall have the right to keep and bear arms in the lawful defense of himself or the State.” Due to dual sovereignty structure of the Constitution, the Federal government has no authority to enforce State laws and the States cannot be compelled to enforce federal laws; and
Whereas, the last protectors of the U.S. Constitution are the County Sheriffs and “We the People of the United States of America” and our ability to fulfill that role successfully rests on our Second Amendment rights. Whereas, it is the desire of the Wood County Commissioners Court to declare its support of the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution and the Texas Constitution protecting citizens’ inalienable and individual right to keep and bear arms. The members of Wood County Commissioners took an oath to support and defend the United States Constitution, the Constitution of the State of Texas and the laws of the State of Texas (insofar as that they are constitutional); and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Commissioners of the County of Wood, by the authority granted to the Commissioners by the laws of the State of Texas and the people of Wood County, Texas to stand and defend their rights and liberties, which are guaranteed by the United States and Texas Constitutions, we hereby declare:

And they can't settle the question through elections because they don't even agree that elections are how you decide who's in charge. That's the basic issue here. Who decides who runs the country? When you hate each other but accept the election results, you have a country. When you stop accepting election results, you have a countdown to a civil war The Mueller investigation is about removing President Trump from office and overturning the results of an election. We all know that. But it's not the first time they've done this. The first time a Republican president was elected this century, they said he didn't really win. The Supreme Court gave him the election. There's a pattern here. What do sure odds of the Democrats rejecting the next Republican president really mean? It means they don't accept the results of any election that they don't win. It means they don't believe that transfers of power in this country are determined by elections. That's a civil war. There's no shooting. At least not unless you count the attempt to kill a bunch of Republicans at a charity baseball game practice. But the Democrats have rejected our system of government. This isn't dissent. It's not disagreement. You can hate the other party. You can think they're the worst thing that ever happened to the country But then you work harder to win the next election. When you consistently reject the results of elections that you don't win, what you want is a dictatorship. Your very own dictatorship. The only legitimate exercise of power in this country, according to Democrats, is its own. Whenever Republicans exercise power, it's inherently illegitimate. The Democrats lost Congress. They lost the White House. So what did they do? They began trying to run the country through Federal judges and bureaucrats. Every time that a Federal judge issues an order saying that the President of the United States can't scratch his own back without his say so, that's the civil war. Our system of government is based on the constitution, but that's not the system that runs this country. The Democrat's system is that any part of government that it runs gets total and unlimited power over the country. If the Democrats are in the White House, then the president can do anything. And I mean anything. He can have his own amnesty for illegal aliens He can fine you for not having health insurance. He can use the IRS as his own police force and imprison citizens who speak against him. He can provide guns and money ( Fast and Furious, Iran nuclear deal ) to other countries to support his own agenda, and watch while one of America's Ambassador's is dragged through the streets and murdered doing nothing to aid our citizens. His power is unlimited. He's a dictator. But when Republicans get into the White House, suddenly the President can't do anything. He isn't even allowed to undo the illegal alien amnesty that his predecessor illegally invented. A Democrat in the White House has 'discretion' to completely decide every aspect of immigration policy. A Republican doesn't even have the 'discretion' to reverse him. That's how the game is played That's how our country is run. Sad but true, although the left hasn't yet won that particular fight. When a Democrat is in the White House, states aren't even allowed to enforce immigration law. But when a Republican is in the White House, states can create their own immigration laws. Under Obama, a state wasn't allowed to go to the bathroom without asking permission. But under Trump, Jerry Brown can go around saying that California is an independent republic and sign treaties with other countries. The Constitution has something to say about that. Whether it's Federal or State, Executive, Legislative or Judiciary, the left moves power around to run the country. If it controls an institution, then that institution is suddenly the supreme power in the land. This is what I call a moving dictatorship. Donald Trump has caused the Shadow Government to come out of hiding: Professional government is a guild. Like medieval guilds. You can't serve in if you're not a member. If you haven't been indoctrinated into its arcane rituals. If you aren't in the club. And Trump isn't in the club. He brought in a bunch of people who aren't in the club with him. Now we're seeing what the pros do when amateurs try to walk in on them. They spy on them, they investigate them and they send them to jail. They use the tools of power to bring them down. That's not a free country. It's not a free country when FBI agents who support Hillary take out an 'insurance policy' against Trump winning the election. It's not a free country when Obama officials engage in massive unmasking of the opposition. It's not a free country when the media responds to the other guy winning by trying to ban the conservative media that supported him from social media. It's not a free country when all of the above collude together to overturn an election because the guy who wasn't supposed to win did. Have no doubt, we're in a civil war between conservative volunteer government and a leftist Democrat professional government. TIPS YOU CAN USE BY GEORGE BROWN
This month’s tip is a report on a book that I just finished reading. It is titled “The Coming Civil War” and is written by Tom Kawczynski. Just as the title suggests, the author believes that the United States is dividing along highly partisan lines, and will be engaged in a civil war in the near future. The author analyzes the history of the various groups that are now appearing in America, and discusses why he believes they formed, and why they will become violent. He then suggests possible outcomes of any conflict that occurs. Since there has already been some violence along political lines, it seems that Mr. Kawczynski may be very close to the truth.
This is not an easy book to read, especially since the author covers this subject in such great detail, and it certainly is not a pleasant subject to contemplate. However, I would not be suprized to see violence before, during and immediately after the 2020 election. If Trump wins in 2020 the left will attack, but if Trump loses the left will attack with even greater violence. No matter what, don’t give up your guns.

I was disappointed at our last meetings to find out that we had discontinued the regular monthly meetings with speakers. Meetings are still to be had but only periodically. I have been a Hawks member for several years and I have found the speakers to be one of my favorite parts of club membership. Wayne has done a great jobs rounding up good speakers from all over the county, the community and even the club. I will miss them greatly if we discontinue them and I presume there are a lot of you who feel the same. I have let Wayne and Ron know my feelings and they assure me that the BOD will discuss the issue further. A word from you on your opinion would be helpful.

Tonight’s concert promoted by The Friends of the Hawks was a success given the facts that it landed on the most beautiful day this fall and Canton was in full swing. Kay spent the day out there Friday and said there was a wall to wall crowd enjoying the weather.
It was very gratifying to see several Hawks families enjoying a great concert and supporting our efforts to generate scholarship money for our young people this scholarship season. Thank you to Efton Edwards, Rob Tubbs, Charles McAfee and Ed Hoying for bringing your families to see Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Patsy Cline and Buddy Holly as well as our mainstay Dale Cummings who all provided an evening of great oldies and goodies.
We will end up with donations to present to Mike Briggs as a start to our scholarship efforts and thanks to Wayne Scott and Ron Miranda for helping watch two of the several entrance doors. All in all it was a great night and thank you to the entertainers who were generous with their performances for a worthy cause.

Rob Tubbs opened the meeting with both pledges, followed by Mike Briggs giving the invocation and Prayer requests for Ken Schwab, Dustin Mathews, Denise Miranda, John Massey, Dave Koch, Ken Pescod, Ron Smith and Carla Scott.
Steven Johnson from Texas Law Shield gave a short presentation on his product and the new additions to the program. Sean Healy, the General Council for Texas State Rifle Association, gave us an in depth look at the new Gun Laws that went into effect September 1, 2019. His outlook for Texas’ remaining a “red” state was cautious and encouraged each of us to continually contact our congressmen and women, encouraging them to vote with gun owners. He cited Senator Cruz’s narrow win over Beto O'Rourke and the “rhino” verbiage coming from our Lieutenant Governor recently should give us pause and a wakeup call.
Ron Smith said his Treasurer’s report was emailed to all and is being condensed to make it easier to read.
George Brown said there was nothing new on the website, however, he asked for anyone to contribute to the newsletter, especially, concerning firearms.
Ron Miranda offered that Rob Tubbs would take charge of the service pins and the “Who are the HAWKS” handouts. New hats have been ordered and will be available in about two to three weeks. Price would be $12 for all season and $10 for the summer cap. Chuck Knox won last Wednesday’s shoot with a 59. Ron asked for those opting to attend the “HAWKS’ night out at Taste of Italy on lake Hawkins please confirm to James Dugger ASAP. He said directions to the restaurant would be emailed to the members. Poker night has been planned for November 21st one week before Thanksgiving. A Hospitality Committee meeting is scheduled for November 7th following the business meeting. Ron, then, read an explanation of Proposition #4 which will be on the November ballot. This proposition, if passed, would virtually eliminate the possibility of a state income tax, and if defeated would open the door for the tax. George asked for the written explanation so it could be added to the monthly newsletter.
Larry Murphy gave the R.S.O. report, that the club has nine certified range safety officers, currently, that need to be renewed. We are averaging 21 participants on the Wednesday Breakfast Shoots (from 19 to 24), with 28 different shooters. On the tournament held, last week, 12 participated in the pistol shoot, 6 participated in the rifle shoot and several will use the make-up opportunity on October 12th. Issues to be addressed are how to handle the new shooting benches or tables, recently installed.
Roman gave the Friends of HAWKS report, stating the Winnsboro Chamber of Commerce donated $500 to the HAWKS’ scholarship fund for participating in the gun show. In addition, Wayne’s’ gun table donated an additional $80. The FOTH are also sponsoring a “Turkey Shoot” on Saturday at the October 5th. WGC Mixer with all proceeds going to the scholarship program. James Morris gave a short explanation on the November 2nd at the Mineola Civic Center, $20 at the door, cash only.
Jimmy Chiles reported on the V.I.P.s activity including Hooves and Halo’s, he will need 12 V.I.P.s for October 18th and the Autumn Trails Welcome Trail Ride parade, followed by the actual trail ride. They will also be needed for the street dance on Market St. that evening. The antique car parade will follow on the 26th on Main St. Jimmy added the Halloween Event, down town, October 30th, and then winding up the year with the Christmas Parade which will, also, be downtown, probably be December 7th.
Under New Business, Wayne introduced a by-law change under Article 2.02 “all members must possess a Texas Concealed Handgun License” to “License to carry”. Motion was made by James Dugger, motion carried. Secondly a change was proposed under duties of the treasurer, that we change “requirements of a charitable organization” to “requirements of a 501 (c) (7). Motion was made by James Morris to make the change, motion carried.
Ron Miranda added that Ed Hoying gave us Mel Mellenberger HAWK’S cap and asked the members what to do to honor Mel. Please email suggestions to Ron.

Hi Yanks, I thought you all would like to see the real figures from Down Under. It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by our own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The first year results are now in: Australia-wide, homicides are up 6.2 percent, Australia-wide, assaults are up 9.6 percent; Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)! In the state of Victoria.....alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. (Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not and criminals still possess their guns!)
While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since the criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed. There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the elderly, while the resident is at home. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased; after such monumental effort and expense was expended in 'successfully ridding Australian society of guns....’you won't see this on the American evening news or hear your governor or members of the State Assembly disseminating this information. The Australian experience speaks for itself. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens. Take note Americans, before it's too late!

Since many of us, myself especially, have a tendency to "jerk" the trigger resulting in shooting to the left. Therefore we are suggesting you hang your game target on the right and your practice target on the left side of the target stand. Just shoot your practice target and when you're done shredding that one automatically go to your game target and shoot 10 rounds only. When everybody's done we will call a cold range and you can retrieve your targets. Throw your practice target away and hang your game target on your fridge.

Once Again, FBI Crime Report Deflates ‘Gun Violence Epidemic’ Rhetoric

Almost on schedule, the annual FBI Uniform Crime Report has punctured a major contention by gun control advocates that the United States is in the midst of a “gun violence epidemic” by reporting the estimated number of homicides involving firearms in 2018, which dropped slightly from the number killed in 2017.
Last year, according to the FBI, there were 14,123 homicides, of which 10,265 involved firearms. In 2017, there were 15,129 total slayings, and firearms were involved in 10,982 of those murders.
But what about the claims that 30,000 to 36,000 people die annually from so-called “gun violence?” Like it or not, roughly 60 percent of those deaths are suicides, not the result of criminal acts as some gun control proponents would have the public believe.
In an Op-Ed published last month in USA Today, Dr. David J. Skorton, president and CEO of the Association of American Medical Colleges, wrote, “The horror of mass shootings commands the headlines, but fewer Americans know that suicides accounted for a staggering 60% of gun-related deaths in 2017.” The pattern doesn’t change much from year to year.
Yet the Giffords Law Center, an arm of the Giffords gun control lobbying group, says on its website, “36,000 Americans are killed by guns each year—an average of 100 per day.” One has to look to a chart below to learn that 61% are suicides and 35% are homicides, with 1.4% being law enforcement shootings, another 487 are “unintentional shootings” and 295 are “undetermined.”
No mention is made of justifiable self-defense shootings by armed private citizens. Last year, according to the FBI report, there were 298 self-defense fatal shootings. That’s down from 314 self-defense slayings reported in 2017.
Why doesn’t Giffords recognize justifiable self-defense in its data? The FBI includes those numbers in every annual report.
The Las Vegas Sun recently published some quotes from leading anti-gunners perpetuating the “gun violence” meme:
- Colorado Sen. Michael Bennet had this observation: “There are many steps we need to take to address the gun violence epidemic that continues to plague communities across the country.”
- New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker: “Tackling the epidemic of gun violence is a personal fight for me, and I’m proud to have put forward the most sweeping gun violence prevention plan in history.”
- Julian Castro, former secretary of Housing and Urban Development: “If I’m elected president, I’ll act on day one to end the epidemic of gun violence in our country.”
After looking at the data, Alan Gottlieb, chairman of the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, issued a statement that summed up the rhetoric thusly: “What ‘gun violence’ epidemic are you talking about?”
Then he said this: “In order to create the impression that this country is awash in violent crime, gun grabbers routinely combine the number of homicides and suicides, plus accidental deaths and call them all acts of so-called ‘gun violence.’ It is deliberately misleading and downright dishonest. Why are Democrats and the gun prohibition lobby lying about this?”
Gottlieb is in a strong position to make such a statement. Over the past five years, he has championed a suicide prevention effort in Washington State with a project called Forefront at the University of Washington. He has testified before the Legislature, co-chaired a subcommittee, worked with suicide prevention experts and for the past couple of years has made sure there is a panel discussion on suicide prevention as part of the agenda at the annual Gun Rights Policy Conference.
By some estimates, there are more than 300 million privately owned firearms in the U.S. and that might be conservative. A tiny fraction of those guns are involved in homicides in any given year. Here’s another interesting statistic from the FBI report: In 2018, of all the gun-related homicides, only 297 are known to have involved rifles of any kind. On average, looking back over several years’ worth of data, anywhere from 2% to 4% of all homicides involve rifles of any kind, not just so-called “assault weapons.” Using that as a base, one can estimate that the same ratio could apply to the 3,130 gun-related slayings in which the type of firearm was listed as “unknown” in the FBI report.
So, why are anti-gunners and politicians such as Booker, Bennet, Castro and others now running for president so eager to ban, an even confiscate, semi-auto modern sporting rifles? Handguns are far more prevalent in criminal homicides, according to the FBI data.
The Uniform Crime Report is loaded with useful data, and its annual release in late September could not have come at a more opportune time this year. With the White House under increasing pressure from the Left to “do something” about so-called “gun violence” in the wake of high-profile shootings in California, Texas and Ohio, having facts at hand can temper a discussion that is usually charged with emotion.

35 years ago, if you were to tell me that I am going to stand up here speaking to a couple thousand patriots, in English, I'd laugh at you. Man, every morning I wake up thanking God for putting me and my family in the greatest country on earth. I just want you all to know that the American dream does exist and I am living the American dream. I was asked to speak to you about my experience as a first generation Vietnamese-American, but I'd rather speak to you as an American.
If you hadn’t noticed, I am not white and I feel pretty comfortable with my people. I am a proud US citizen and here is my proof. It took me 8 years to get it, waiting in endless lines, but I got it, and I am very proud of it.
I still remember the images of the Tet offensive in 1968, I was six years old. Now you might want to question how a 6-year-old boy could remember anything. Trust me, those images can never be erased. I can't even imagine what it was like for young American soldiers, 10,000 miles away from home, fighting on my behalf.
35 years ago, I left South Vietnam for political asylum. The war had ended. At the age of 13, I left with the understanding that I may or may not ever get to see my siblings or parents again. I was one of the first lucky 100,000 Vietnamese allowed to come to the US. Somehow, my family and I were reunited 5 months later, amazingly, in California. It was a miracle from God.
If you haven't heard lately that this is the greatest country on earth, I am telling you that right now. It was the freedom and the opportunities presented to me that put me here with all of you tonight. I also remember the barriers that I had to overcome every step of the way. My high school counselor told me that I cannot make it to college due to my poor communication skills. I proved him wrong. I finished college. You see, all you have to do is to give this little boy an opportunity and encourage him to take and run with it. Well, I took the opportunity and here I am.
This person standing tonight in front of you could not exist under a socialist/communist environment. By the way, if you think socialism is the way to go, I am sure many people here will chip in to get you a one-way ticket out of here. And if you didn't know, the only difference between socialism and communism is an AK-47 aimed at your head. That was my experience.
In 1982, I stood with a thousand new immigrants, reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and listening to the National Anthem for the first time as an American. To this day, I can't remember anything sweeter and more patriotic than that moment in my life.
Fast forwarding, somehow I finished high school, finished college, and like any other goofball 21 year old kid, I was having a great time with my life I had a nice job and a nice apartment in Southern California. In some way and somehow, I had forgotten how I got here and why I was here.
One day I was at a gas station, I saw a veteran pumping gas on the other side of the island. I don't know what made me do it, but I walked over and asked if he had served in Vietnam. He smiled and said yes. I shook and held his hand. This grown man's eyes began to well up. I walked away as fast as I could and at that very moment, I was emotionally rocked. This was a profound moment in my life. I knew something had to change in my life. It was time for me to learn how to be a good citizen. It was time for me to give back.
You see, America is not just a place on the map, it isn't just a physical location. It is an ideal, a concept. And if you are an American, you must understand the concept, you must accept this concept, and most importantly, you have to fight and defend this concept. This is about Freedom and not free stuff. And that is why I am standing up here
Brothers and sisters, to be a real American, the very least you must do is to learn English and understand it well. In my humble opinion, you cannot be a faithful patriotic citizen if you can't speak the language of the country you live in. Take this document of 46 pages - last I looked on the Internet, there wasn't a Vietnamese translation of the U.S. Constitution. It took me a long time to get to the point of being able to converse and until this day, I still struggle to come up with the right words. It's not easy, but if it's too easy, it's not worth doing
Before I knew this 46-page document, I learned of the 500,000 Americans who fought for this little boy. I learned of the 58,000 names inscribed on the black wall at the Vietnam Memorial. You are my heroes. You are my founders.
At this time, I would like to ask all the Vietnam veterans to please stand. I thank you for my life. I thank you for your sacrifices, and I thank you for giving me the freedom and liberty I have today. The IMF is warning that “global economies” will contract by $455 billion next year due to the ongoing trade conflict between the U.S., China, the EU and to a lesser extent, Japan .
President Trump will cost the “Global Economy” $455 billion…. because that money will be transferring back to the America First economy. That’s what happens as MAGAnomics reverses the IMF trade (wealth distribution) model.
China and the EU have devalued their currency in an effort to block the impacts from President Trump and the ‘America First’ trade policy. Because those currencies are pegged against the dollar, the resulting effect is a rising dollar value. In essence, the globalist IMF is now blaming President Trump for having a strong economy that forces international competition to devalue their currency.
In the bigger picture is why President Trump is the most transformative economic President in the last 75 years. The post-WWII Marshall Plan was set up to allow Europe and Asia to place tariffs on exported American industrial products. Those tariffs were used by the EU and Japan to rebuild their infrastructure after a devastating war. However, there was never a built in mechanism to end the tariffs…. until President Trump came along and said: “it’s over”!
After about 20 years (+/-), say 1970 to be fair, the EU and Japan received enough money to rebuild. But instead of ending the one-way payment system, Asia and the EU sought to keep going and build their economies larger than the U.S. Additionally, the U.S. was carrying the cost of protecting the EU (via NATO) and Japan with our military. The EU and Japan didn’t need to spend a dime on defense because the U.S. essentially took over that role. But that military role, just like the tariffs, never ended. Again, until Trump.
The U.S. economy was the host for around 50 years of parasitic wealth exfiltration, or as most would say “distribution”. The term "exfiltration" better highlights that American citizens paid higher prices for stuff, and paid higher taxes within the overall economic scheme, than was needed. President Trump is the first and only president who said: “enough”, and prior politicians who didn’t stop the process were “stupid” etc. etc. Obviously, he is 100% correct.
For the past 30 years the U.S. was a sucker to keep letting the process remain in place while we lost our manufacturing base to overseas incentives. The investment process from Wall Street (removal of Glass-Steagall) only made the process much more severe and faster. Wall Street was now investing in companies whose best bet (higher profit return) was to pour money overseas. This process created the “Rust Belt”, and damn near destroyed the aggregate manufacturing industry.
Unfortunately, putting ‘America First’ is now also against the interests of the multinationals on Wall Street so President Trump has to fight adverse economic opponents on multiple fronts…. and their purchased mercenary army we know as DC politicians.
No-one, ever, could take on all these interests. Think about it… The EU, Asia, World Bank, International Monetary Fund, China, Russia, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Iran, U.S. Congress, Democrats, U.S. Senate, Wall Street, the Big Club, Lobbyists, Hollywood, Corporate Media (foreign and domestic), and the ankle-biters in Never Trump…. All of these financial interests are aligned against Main Street USA and against President Trump.
Name one individual who could take them on simultaneously and still be winning. They say he’s one man. They say they have him outnumbered. Yet somehow, as unreal as it seems, he’s the one who appears to have them surrounded. Enjoy!!
PROPSITION FOUR SUBMITTED BY ALLAN TUELL
Included below is a brief description of Proposition 4 which will be on the ballot this November. It explains that a "YES" vote would support a continued income tax ban.
Proposition 4 (House Joint Resolution 38) will read:
“The constitutional amendment prohibiting the imposition of an individual income tax, including a tax on an individual's share of partnership and unincorporated association income."
This year, the Texas State Constitution requires the Legislature to place the notion of a state income tax before the voters as a statewide referendum.
Prop 4 was placed on the ballot with one of the narrowest margins in the past 25 years. In the Texas House of Representatives 42 Democrats opposed the income-tax ban and 20 were in favor of it.
In the Senate, nine Democrats voted against the ban and three were in favor of it. All Republicans in both chambers voted for the income-tax ban.
This proposition for an income-tax ban ties with Prop 1 in 2005, Prop 2 and Prop 12 in 2003 for the narrowest margins since 1995.
Some Wichita County officials say the wording may be confusing to some voters and people might take a short glance at the proposition, see “tax” and automatically think to vote it down.
“Whoever drafted the verbiage on the ballot either did it by design or by default and sadly enough both are equally as dangerous with creating confusion for the public," said Wichita County Tax Collector/Assessor Tommy Smyth said.
If Texans want the personal-income tax ban to be a constitutional amendment, then they should vote “yes” to Proposition 4 (HJR 38).
"The ballot verbiage is confusing. If you do not want a state (income) tax then you need to vote YES!," Lori Bohannon, Wichita County Clerk said Thursday.
Approval of Prop 4 (a Yes vote) would make the income-tax ban permanent for Texans.

I’ve read this pretty carefully, and, finding myself confused after reading various “explanations,” I started from the beginning. I wrote this to help myself understand it. I . . . think I do.

Larry's explanation is dead on. I was cutting to the chase as it were for brevity. A yes vote merely means a state income tax will not now or even ever be brought to the tax payers for approval, while a no vote simply gives a legislature at some point the opportunity to bring up the subject of an income tax to the voter.
Again research for yourselves, this is an important issue which may not affect us but may impact our children and grandchildren. Make an informed decision. I hate trick questions; know what the hell you are voting for or against.

REMEMBER 911 SUBMITTED BY JAMES CHILES
I'LL BET YOU DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THIS:
AFTER FLIGHT 77 HIT THE PENTAGON ON 9/11, THE FOLLOWING HAPPENED.
A daycare facility inside the Pentagon had many children, including infants who were in heavy cribs. The daycare supervisor, looking at all the children they needed to evacuate, was in a panic over what they could do. There were many children, mostly toddlers, as well as the infants who would need to be taken out with the cribs. There was no time to try to bundle them into carriers and strollers.
Just then, a young Marine came running into the center and asked what they needed. After hearing what the center director was trying to do, he ran back out into the hallway and disappeared.
The director thought, "Well, here we are, on our own."
About 2 minutes later, that Marine returned with 40 other Marines in tow. Each of them grabbed a crib with a child, and the rest started gathering up toddlers.
The director and her staff then helped them take all the children out of the center and down toward the park near the Potomac.
Once they got about 3/4 of a mile outside the building, the Marines stopped in the park, and then did a fabulous thing - they formed a circle with the cribs, which were quite sturdy and heavy…like the covered wagons in the Old West.
Inside this circle of cribs, they put the toddlers, to keep them from wandering off. Outside this circle were the 40 Marines, forming a perimeter around the children and waiting for instructions. There they remained until the parents could be notified and come get their children.
The chaplain then said, "I don't think any of us saw nor heard of this on any of the news stories of the day. It was an incredible story of our men there.” There wasn't a dry eye in the room.
The thought of those Marines and what they did and how fast they reacted; could we expect any less from them? It was one of the most touching stories from the Pentagon.
It's the military, not the politicians that ensures our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It's the Military who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag.
If you care to offer the smallest token of recognition and appreciation for the military, please pass this on and pray for our men and women, who have served and are currently serving our country, and honor the memory of those who have given the ultimate sacrifice!

Minutes for HAWKS’ business meeting of September 5, 2019

Support Members; George Brown, Webmstr., Mike Briggs, Chaplin, Wendall Hildebrandt of Friends of HAWKS,
Wayne called the meeting to order at 6 pm. and asked Jeff Paddock to lead the group in the American and Texas pledge of allegiance. The meeting was then turned over to Chaplin Briggs, who announced he would soon be married. He asked for prayers for members Ken Pescod, Doug Grantham, Ken Goodson and Gordon Glass, all are ailing and need our prayers. We hope for success for Ken Schwab, who will undergo back surgery on Monday, the 9th.
Wayne introduced new members Dave Hammond and Hans Kurz and welcomed prospects Steve Williams, son of Bob and Jack Miranda, son of Ron.
Wayne thanked Rusdon Mills for helping with our returning to the bank for our meetings and helping with the room set up.
Wayne asked for a Treasurer’s report and James said the current financial information had been sent to the members and announced he would be stepping down as Treasurer with Ron Smith taking his job. The members thanked James for his service and Wayne presented him with a letter of commendation. Wayne said in accordance with 4.05 of our by-laws the board appointed Ron Smith as Treasurer and Larry Murphy to replace Ron at R.S.O. He then presented Ron Smith with a letter of commendation and the many thanks of a grateful club.
George asked if anyone had questions regarding the website, being none, we moved to the next item, the affirmation of officers. With no opposition, Ron Miranda, Greg Bova and Rob Tubbs were affirmed as repeat officers in their positions.
Ron M. explained the Hoying buddy system where each office will have someone assisting or backing up the office holder.
There was no motion to have the minutes from the previous meeting read.
Ron recognized the recipients of the 8 yr. membership pins and had 2 yr., 5 yr. and 7 yr. pins available, as well.
The new roster was sent out a week ago and errors were noticed, therefore, it will be re-done as soon as we have all the delinquents taken care of. Ron estimated there should top out about 54 members.
Ron went over our general expense register with the members in an attempt to establish an operating budget.
He went over the Night Out for the members at the Taste of Italy on Lake Hawkins. This is being handled by James Dugger. Information will be forth coming.
It was announced that our Chaplain, Mike Briggs will soon be married.
Ron S. Thanked the RSOs and Weekly match directors for their diligence and hard work along with affirming the range is safe, contrary to the opinion of a former member. Larry Murphy announced the new way of selecting the breakfast winner.
James was asked if he had anything to report from the Friends of Hawks. He discussed the upcoming concert the FOTH are sponsoring with all proceeds going to the HAWKS scholarship fund. Hawks are urged to attend with their wives and in HAWKS shirts. Tickets are $20 each and will ONLY be available at the door. Entertainment will be provided by Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, a special mystery guest and Dale Cummings, the “C”.
Wayne discussed the Personal Protection Seminar in Ft. Worth which starts September 6th.
He moved on to the Gun Show sponsored by The Winnsboro Chamber of Commerce which will be held on September 14th & 15th. The HAWKS are asked to help if possible especially from 6pm. to 6 AM for security.
Paul Fletcher auctioned off the donated knife and was purchased by Wendall Hildebrandt, the money to be donated to the FOTH.
Wayne proposed an exchange a magazine night and closed the business meeting and moved into the gun cleaning portion of the evening.

“Do something, Mr. McConnell,” The Washington Post wrings its hands and wails in a virtue-bleating Wednesday editorial. “When the Senate returns from its Labor Day recess, it must act on guns.” Something must be done! We’ve heard that before. And that “something” involves curtailing the rights of those who already follow the rules and does nothing to curtail the predatory actions of those who never will follow the rules. “No, no law would end gun violence,” the editors admit.
We’ve been watching the calls for “baby steps” and the admission from Nancy Pelosi that she’s relying on that “slippery slope” that the lying gun grabbers ridicule as “rightwing paranoia.” We know that the goal is citizen disarmament because the pioneers of the movement used to admit it before the totalitarian lobby figured out that slick weasel-words like “gun safety” played better with naïve people being swindled out of their rights. But of course they’re talking about taking your guns. “Ban the sale of military-grade assault weapons,” WaPo whines. “Unneeded by civilians, they are a blight on the nation. ”
It would be interesting to see the qualifications the editorial board possesses, so that they can declare “need” for all persons. Is it based on experience or just more journalistic malpractice by opinionated incompetents? It’s also interesting that they don’t entertain the notion that such firearms, as the Miller court noted, might have “some reasonable relationship to the preservation or efficiency of a well-regulated militia [or] that this weapon is any part of the ordinary military equipment, or that its use could contribute to the common defense.” The Founders wanted the militia of “the whole people” to have “weapons of war.” And that drives today’s Tories nuts.
Nor does it enter into the equation that of the millions of semiautomatic rifles peaceably owned, used and enjoyed by Americans who do understand the Second Amendment, per Pew Research, “Rifles – the category that includes many guns that are sometimes referred to as ‘assault weapons”– were involved in 4%' [of murders/non-negligent manslaughters].” That means they represent a percentage of a percent. Don't worry—WaPo doesn’t want you keeping and bearing handguns, either, but we’re doing things in baby steps.
“Would any volume of bloodshed convince the Kentucky Republican that Congress faces a moral imperative to act?” the editors self-righteously plead, relying on dancing in that blood to make an emotional appeal where a factual one won’t work.
Every one of the articles should be preceded by statements of fact to put things in perspective, such as “Victims killed in enforced ‘gun-free zones’” or “Gun laws utterly failed.” Tellingly, the Sutherland Springs article failed to mention that an armed citizen stopped the killer and saved more lives. It was literally the “good guy with a gun” the anti-gunners ridicule so often and so loudly, who proved them so profoundly wrong – and he did it with an AR-15.
Not that any of this matters to the WaPo. You can see it for yourself, how the rest of the media is amplifying and spreading the story in a transparent attempt to spook the Republicans into betraying their core constituency of gun owners. Unfortunately, efforts countering that are for the most part limited to “pro-gun” echo chambers, with attempts to share them often stymied by hostile social media moderators and skewed search engine algorithms.
Despite such uneven playing fields, keep in mind: No matter what oath-breaking political parasites do, a critical mass of committed gun owners will not surrender their guns and there aren’t enough enforcers to make it happen. That both enrages and scares the hell out of those who would control everyone, but it also shows that the Second Amendment is still working as intended.

Michigan State Police discovered an arms cache of 200 semi-automatic rifles and 250,000 rounds of ammunition in a Detroit public housing project near a library.
The Truth:
Michigan State Police didn’t discover an arms cache in a Detroit public housing project.
The rumor, which first appeared on message boards in October 2014, appears to be a weak attempt at humor. After listing weapons, drugs and counterfeit money supposedly seized from the “arms cache” near a library — the post reports that Detroit residents were surprised to learn that there was a library in the community, not a large arms cache:
Huge Arms Cache Discovered in Detroit

Could anybody be surprised at that?
Michigan State Police have announced the discovery of an arms cache of 200 semi-automatic rifles with 250,000 rounds of ammunition, 10 anti-tank missiles, 4 grenade launchers, 2 tons of heroin, $12 million in forged bills and a ring of 14 prostitutes, all in a housing project behind the Detroit Public Library.
Detroit folks were stunned. A community organizer said: “We be shocked. We never knowed we had a library …’
The punch line of that racist joke was lost on people who truly believed that Michigan State Police had uncovered an arms cache in a public housing project in Detroit. Either they didn’t read all the way through the post, or they didn’t “get” the irony in people supposedly being surprised to learn that there’s a library in their community, but not surprised to learn of an arms cache.
The Michigan State Police has not reported finding an arms cache that include semi-automatic rifles, grenade launchers and heroin.

Regarding the joke about the Detroit housing projects which appeared in the August Newsletter, I did not view the last laugh entry as being racist; I viewed it as mocking uneducated people of any race who chose not to report a large drug operation going on right next to them. The real issue here is not whether or not some people found it offensive; the real issue is did it really happen. When I published the joke in Last Laugh I assumed that it actually happened. The above article describes the joke and states that it did not actually happen.
To check it out, I searched the web site of the Michigan State police and found nothing that reported a drug bust in the Detroit housing projects. However, the supposed incident happened in 2014, and their on line records do not go back that far. I then sent them an email and asked them directly if the story was true. As of this moment I have not received a reply from them. Since the article above definitely states that the incident never happened, I must assume that the origional story is false, and for that reason I have removed it from the August newsletter. If I had evidence that the incident was actually true, I would leave it on the page no matter whom or how many people found it offensive.
If I ever receive an answer from the Michigan State police I will let you all know what they say. As of this moment the joke is gone. Also, I would like to thank Larry for his comments. I always like to receive comments from the Hawks on the content of the web page and on the newsletter. It is not necessary for a person to agree with me to have their comments published.

Frank Abagnale: Never do these 2 things because 'that's 98% of stealing your identity'
Your Facebook profile may have all the information a fraudster needs to steal your sensitive information. “If you’re on Facebook, here are the only things you have to remember — never tell anybody where you were born or your date of birth,” Frank Abagnale told Yahoo Finance. “That's 98% of me stealing your identity. I only need to know those two pieces of information.”
Abagnale, a former con artist famously portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio in the film Catch Me If You Can, is out with a new book aptly entitled “Scam Me If You Can: Simple Strategies to Outsmart Today’s Rip-off Artists.” In it, he highlights the tricks that today’s scammers and con artists are using to commit fraud. In the book, Abagnale outlines five rules of how to protect yourself from today’s scammers:
Tip: Put your guard up as soon as someone says you need to share your personal or financial information with them right now — stop and verify the person you’re dealing with.
Tip: Do not trust someone who tells you they always beat the market or can guarantee a certain level of returns. An honest and qualified financial planner cannot guarantee investment results.
- Tip: Do not keep all your personal information in the cloud or on one laptop.
Tip: If you do not recognize the number calling you, do not pick it up. If you do pick up the call be sure to remain tight lipped as the con caller may be recording the call, and saying nothing usually results in the caller hanging up.
Tip: Verify that the person you are speaking with is real. Search online to confirm claims of location, employment, and photos.
One surprising thing Abagnale notes in his book is the uselessness of passwords. He says that passwords were originally created to help secure individual time spent on computers used by multiple people, not to protect personal information or high security needs. “Passwords are for treehouses ... If you look at ransomware breaches, malware, [breaches] all come from passwords. So I’ve been a big advocator of eliminating passwords” Abagnale said. “I think you’re starting to see more and more companies, retailers, merchants, eliminating the need for passwords. So in the next two or three years, I don’t think we’ll be using passwords”.
Abagnale said scamming and fraud are “4,000 times easier than when I did it 50 years ago because I didn’t have all the technology that exists today, the forms of communication that exist today.”

I am not surprised that AOC is ignoring the real problem, and I am not surprised that she blames the problem on her phony global warming issue. This is a con and AOC is trying to set us up.

Treasurer Report...James Morris, current status emailed to all members, James announced he would not be the HAWKS’ Treasurer next year as he was concentrating on helping the Friends of HAWKS.
Website Report...George Brown said the site is up to date and in good shape, however, due to his health George is looking for someone to help him with the site, sort of a backup. He is willing to train that person in how to navigate around the administrative part of the site. George was presented a commendation letter by Wayne from the club.
Wayne introduced a new visitor, Hans (could not make out) moved here from New York.
Secretaries Report… Ron M. reported the 8 yr. pins would be available October 19th and he would notify the recipients. He then announced the Pizza and Politics presentation by Rachel Malone, Texas Director of Gun Owners of America, who will be discussing “Your Gun Rights Are Under Attack”. Rachel is a champion shooter in her own right; we are trying to get a group together to go to this event.
Poker night at Ron Miranda’s Man Cave, August 22nd, a Thursday, a friendly game and all are welcome.
The Hospitality Committee has put together a “Night Out”, dinner at the Taste of Italy on the Lake on Lake Hawkins. The date is OCTOBER 19th, please let James “Sleepy” Dugger know if you and your lady can go. The deal will be same as it was in Grand Saline when we went down there.
Ron then explained the “Hoying Experiment”, where another Board member with similar duties could help one of the other Board members with his job. Even if we pulled from outside the Board for help it could be made to work. Example could be Michael Groves helping Rob Tubbs, Paul helping with Wayne’s duties and Bova sharing some of Ron M’s jobs.
Ron finished by introducing his son Jack as a visitor and possible new member.
Wayne then presented Ron with a letter of commendation for his service to the club.
Ron mentioned that Sheriff Castloo dropped off more of the fliers for the 1st. Annual Shootout in the Woods, benefitting the Wood County Republican Party.
James Morris reiterated he would be stepping down at the end of this year to work closer with the Friend of HAWKS. He, also, promoted the FOTH Concert scheduled for November 2nd at the Mineola Civic Center.
Paul accepted a knife courtesy of Shawn Roberts and the National Wild Turkey Foundation and offered it to the club for raffle at our September meeting, the picture of the knife will be posted on our website.
In Ron’s absence Wayne gave the Shooting Report... Wayne said we should have about $2,000 for prizes for the Wednesday shooters proportionate to the shooter’s activity. Next meeting we will have a gun cleaning demonstration, a sort of show and tell for those who have needs in cleaning a particular gun. Guns must be unloaded with NO matching ammo with it.
Wendall gave the Friends of HAWKS report… Ken Watts was recognized for his efforts in raising money for the FOTH.
VIPs report… Jimmy Chiles thanked the members who turned out for the manhunt from the earlier week of the convict that walked away from the outdoor detail. The VIPs had three new applicants and are being processed by the WPD.
October will be a very busy month for the VIPs due to all the activity’s planned.
Wendall commented on a service called ZELLO which converts your smart phone to a two way radio. Wayne asked that all members keep their phones clear and able to accept voice mail.

My Leftist friends constantly ask me if I'm not bothered by Donald Trump's lack of decorum. They ask if I don't think his tweets are "beneath the dignity of the office." Here's my answer: We Right-thinking people have tried dignity. There could not have been a man of more quiet dignity than George W Bush as he suffered the outrageous lies and politically motivated hatreds that undermined his presidency. We tried propriety: has there been a nicer human being ever than Mitt Romney? And the results were always the same.
This is because, while we were playing by the rules of dignity, collegiality and propriety, the Left has been, for the past 60 years, engaged in a knife fight where the only rules are those of Saul Alinsky and the Chicago mob. I don't find anything "dignified," "collegial" or "proper" about Barack Hussain Obama's lying about what went down on the streets of Ferguson in order to ramp up racial hatreds because racial hatreds serve the Democratic Party. I don't see anything "dignified" in lying about the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi and imprisoning an innocent filmmaker to cover your tracks. I don't see anything "statesman-like" in weaponizing the IRS to be used to destroy your political opponents. Yes, Obama was "articulate" and "polished" but in no way was he in the least bit "dignified," "collegial" or "proper."
The Left has been engaged in a war against America since the rise of the Children of the '60s. To them, it has been an all-out war where nothing is held sacred and nothing is seen as beyond the pale. It has been a war they've fought with violence, the threat of violence, demagoguery, lies and the violent take-over of the universities. Through these years, the Left has been the only side fighting this war. While the Left has been taking a knife to anyone who stands in their way, the Right has continued to act with dignity, collegiality and propriety. With Donald Trump, this all has come to an end. Donald Trump is America 's first wartime president in the Culture War.
During wartime, things like "dignity" and "collegiality" simply aren't the most essential qualities one looks for in their warriors. Ulysses S. Grant was a drunk whose behavior in peacetime might well have seen him drummed out of the Army for conduct unbecoming. Had Abraham Lincoln applied the peacetime rules of propriety and booted Grant, the Democrats might well still be holding their slaves today. Lincoln rightly recognized that, "I cannot spare this man. He fights ." General George Patton was a vulgar-talking, son-of-a-bitch. In peacetime, this might have seen him stripped of rank. But, had Franklin Roosevelt applied the normal rules of decorum then, Hitler and the Socialists would be seven decades into their thousand-year Reich.
Trump is fighting. And what's particularly delicious is that, like Patton standing over the battlefield as his artillery obliterated Rommel's divisions, he's shouting, "You magnificent bastard, I read your book!”, it's wonderful to see that not only is Trump fighting, but he's defeating the Left using their own tactics.
That book is Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals a book so essential to the Liberals' war against America that it is and was the playbook for the entire Obama administration and the subject of Hillary Clinton's senior thesis. It is a book of pure evil. Trump's tweets may seem rash but, in reality, he is doing exactly what Alinsky suggested his followers do. First, instead of going after "the fake media" generally, Trump isolated CNN. He made it personal. Then, just as Alinsky suggests, he employs ridicule which Alinsky described as "the most powerful weapon of all" ...Most importantly, Trump's tweets have put CNN in an untenable and unwinnable position. It is nothing but the incessant use of fake news and propaganda that keeps the Leftist movement alive.
So, to my friends on the Left and the #Never Trumpers as well do I wish we lived in a time when our president could be "collegial" and "dignified" and "proper"? Of course, I do. These aren't those times. This is war. And it's a war that the Left has been fighting without opposition for the past 60 years. So, say anything you want about this president I don't care. I can’t spare this warrior. He fights for America! Fight on, you magnificent bastard!

President Trump has declared the month of August “National Sports Shooting Month.” This is not something you will see on the news. His administration is working on opening up 1.4 million acres for recreational fishing, hunting, etc.

Shawn Roberts of the National Wild Turkey Foundation spoke to us at our monthly meeting. His talk included details of stocking wild turkeys in east Texas, a discussion of the various varieties of turkey, tips on where to hunt them, and even some information about how to use different types of turkey callers. All those present found the talk interesting and very informative.
Mr. Roberts awarded a knife to Hawk vice president, Paul Fletcher. Paul then donated it to the Hawks to be auctioned off to benefit our scholarship program. The knife is pictured above.

In recent months, Homeland Security officials have testified before Congress about an unimaginable practice taking place on our southern border: child recycling. Asylum seekers have discovered a loophole in our immigration laws which grant preferential treatment to families over individuals. As a result, criminals have begun abducting, purchasing, or renting children in order to impersonate families when entering the country.
This loophole was created in 1997 by a court settlement which limited the amount of time families can be held while awaiting an asylum hearing. After 20 days, they are released into the country and asked to return for their hearing, although most never do. Once released, traffickers smuggle the children back across the border into Mexico to be used again and again. Homeland Security officials say they’ve discovered more than 5,500 fraudulent families over the past year.
In one case, a man purchased a baby in Guatemala for $80 and approached our border to claim asylum. Following questioning and a request by Homeland Security officials that he take a DNA test to confirm kinship, he admitted his wrongdoing. The DNA tests were conducted under a pilot program which identified nearly one in five families as fraudulent. I’ve introduced legislation to expand and make that program permanent.
My bill, the End Child Trafficking Now Act, would require anyone claiming to be a family at the border to provide proof of kinship. In the event they can’t produce documentation or a credible witness, it would require them to take a DNA test. The test is quick and painless, just a mouth swab taking only 90 minutes to produce results.
This bill would legally define “child recycling” and levy a maximum sentence of ten years in prison for those found guilty. The End Child Trafficking Now Act will send a loud and clear message to those seeking asylum that exploitation of children will not be tolerated.

The tip for this month is another book report. The book in question was written by Tucker Carlson, and is entitled “Ship of Fools”. Tucker is the 7 PM anchor on Fox News. If you like massive illegal immigration, transgender bathrooms, high taxes, constant foreign wars, and disrespect for the military and our flag then you probably will not like this book. If you approve of arrogant corrupt politicians constantly lecturing the American people then you probably will not like this book. If however, you are distressed by all these things, as I am, then you will probably enjoy reading Tucker’s take on them. My favorite part of the book is the chapter that points the extreme hypocrisy of the global warming crowd. The book is not long, and you can probably read it in one weekend. It can be purchased on Amazon.

Before being named Texas Director for GOA, she founded Texas Firearms Freedom, the first organization to champion Constitutional Carry in Texas. She is, currently, the Texas Director for Gun Owners of America. Her topic will be " Your Gun Rights Are Under Attack"
This presentation will be held Tuesday, August 13th at 6:00 pm. at the Titus County Extension Office on 1708 Industrial Rd. in Mt. Pleasant, Tx. It will be hosted by Sue Evenwell.
She was contacted by Wayne and was told if we would submit a list of attendees she will block off seats for us (she is familiar with the HAWKS). Rob opened the meeting at 6 pm. with the pledge to the U.S. and Texas flags, followed by the Invocation, delivered by Mike Briggs along with a reading from the former Secretary for the Senate, Marshall, during the Truman administration. He, then, recognized our members who are ailing, including Dennis Morey, Ken Watts, Vicki Fletcher and Ray Hollingsworth.
Wayne offered the floor to Janna Castloo, chairman of the Wood Co. Republican party, who offered an opportunity for the members to participate in an upcoming fund raiser for the Republicans, which will be a skeet shoot at the Hidden Lakes retreat northeast of Winnsboro and a get-together. She also offered voter registration forms for those who needed to register.
Winnsboro Police Officer McClure thanked the VIPs for their service and how necessary they are, along with a plea for them to continue serving.
Ken Watts introduced and touted Jordan Holland as a recipient of one of the Friends of HAWKS scholarships, this year.
Jimmy Chiles took the floor to thank the VIPs and a plea for additional people to become a part of this program.
Ranger John Vance took the stage and enlightened the group about the duties of the Rangers. He was a most informative speaker, touching on the border and its problems and realities. Ranger Vance covers Wood, Rains and Hopkins Counties, and is available to help out where necessary in other counties. They are mainly concerned with major crimes, especially where a law enforcement officer must or did fire his weapon.
James Morris was called on for the Treasurer’s report and asked if all had received it by email. James asked for a replacement as he was stepping down in September.
Wayne called on George Brown for an update on the website; he stated that a new software program was installed to handle the Classified Ads.
Ron M. was called on and reported the “Who are the HAWKS” handouts have been revised and is awaiting board approval. There is nothing new to report on the 8 year pins. Mel Mellenberger’s Memorial was mentioned as to the number of HAWKS that attended. Ron asked for volunteers to take the Treasurer’s, Secretary and Sgt. at Arms offices, mentioning that Michael Groves is a candidate for the Sgt. at Arms. office. August 1st begins our dues month and ends August 31st, dues, of $36, must be paid by then to vote in the September election and attend the Christmas Dinner. The Treasurer has requested that dues be paid by check or that a note accompany cash for proper application. The Hospitality Committee is finalizing the Christmas Dinner and planning a Members Night Out for September or October, which James Dugger is in charge of. Poker night is planned for August 22nd at Miranda’s Man Cave, all players are invited.
Roman was called on for a FOH report, and stated they are re-writing the by-laws. He asked James Morris to announce the concert they are hosting November 3rd at the Mineola Civic Center.
Ron Smith reported there are only 7 Wednesdays left to qualify for gifts for the breakfast shoots, and briefly went over the rules and dates for the tournament shoots. He reported that the treasury will amount to about $2,000 and asked for more volunteers to become a Wednesday Range Masters. He also said there would be no award dinner, but the certificates and gift night would happen on November business meeting. Motion was made and approved to adjourn

SCHOLARSHIP REPORT
The friends of the Hawks awarded two 1,500 scholarships to two very deserving graduating high school students this year. Receiving the two scholarships were Jordan Holland of Birthright, TX and Abigail Nichols of Winnsboro, TX. Mr. Holland plans to attend a welding school, and Miss Nichols is pursuing a medical career. SCIENTIFIC FRAUD PART VII BY GEORGE BROWN
Last month, I pointed out the fact that many climate scientists believe that we are actually in a cooling trend now. I included two links to presentations from scientists who believe this, but they are not the only two. There are many more. Global cooling can be much more serious than global warming. The following story will give you an actual example of global cooling from world history. In late 1815 Mount Tambora in Indonesia, erupted with such violence that it shot ash into the stratosphere, 141,000 feet above the Earth’s surface. The eruption lasted for four months; the jet stream blew the ash all around the world. There was so much ash and volcanic debris that it blocked out the sun’s rays for weeks and caused the average temperature of the earth to drop three degrees. That three degrees may not sound like much, but it produced the following results. There was snow and ice in the northern United States during the summer months, and the year 1816 became known as the year without a summer. Each month of the year had at least one hard frost, and there were widespread crop failures all across Europe and North America. Food was scarce, prices shot up, and people went hungry. Fortunately this condition lasted only one year. By the next year most the ash had settled out of the atmosphere and things were almost back to normal. During this one year, there were only a few deaths caused by the extreme cold and hunger, but had this extreme cold persisted for longer, these conditions could have become catastrophic. The point here is that extreme cold weather is really more dangerous than extremely hot weather.
As I wrote this article I included many YouTube links to presentations from many scientists which supported my conclusions. It is true that I offered no contrary opinions from YouTube. Frankly, this is because the pro global warming content is mostly emotional drivel. It contains pictures of the statue of liberty under water, cartoons of rising seas, and people fleeing to the mountains. There are a few old presentations that attempt to present data, but that data has now been exposed as fake. I finished every installment with a request for dissenting opinions, but received none. If there is any evidence that the information contained in this article is incorrect, I would like to see it.
This global warming hoax was well on its way to being exposed before I ever started to write about it, so why did I bother. In a letters to the editor section of the February newsletter I briefly discussed the vicious nature of some of the people who populate the global warming movement. As it happens, these are the same people that are trying to outlaw guns by taking them away from people who obey the law. These people who are trying to take our guns also support Antifa. Antifa is a group of outlaw thugs who attack innocent unarmed people, and in many cases hurt them so badly that hospital treatment is necessary. A few weeks ago there was a news story on Fox about a journalist named Andy Ngo who was attacked and beaten by Antifa thugs in Portland. He suffered brain damage as a result of the attack. His offense was to film some of the activities of Antifa. These thugs are protected by the radical left, who control some major U.S. cities, and by their lap dogs in the mainstream media. The radical left wants to make sure that the thugs they protect remain armed, while decent law abiding people are disarmed. This is nothing less than an overt attempt to take over and control the whole country. We can all see that these people are trying to overturn the last election by force and violence.
But not everyone who touts global warming is an overtly criminal type who attacks innocent people, so let’s look at it from another point of view. Everyone wants to be well thought of by others, or to be important. Some people try to accomplish this by attaching themselves to projects that receive national attention. The environmental movement is a chief recipient of this type of support. These people start out with good intentions, but they quickly become enraged when they are ignored by the general population. Their rational goes like this. Some people are damaging the environment in various ways; this offense is placing the earth in danger of destruction; and if the earth is destroyed everyone living on it will die. When global warming is viewed this way, people who resist the movement are thought of as criminals guilty of murder and should be made subject to extreme penalties. By contrast the people who oppose the global warming deniers are heroes trying to save the world. These would be saviors of the world take themselves so seriously that they sometimes threaten physical harm to anyone who disagrees with them. Recently a seven year old girl received death threats because she mimicked AOC. The following is a link to the YouTube comedy display she created. The point here is that these people are extremely dangerous and they are perfectly willing to kill people, even small children, whom they disagree with. They did not latch on to a valid environmental issue in order to help others who might need help; they created a phony environmental issue in order to exploit it and gain power over others. In my opinion their whole objective is to overturn the last election and seize control of the country. No one who has such a lust for power should ever elected to public office, because they are not capable working in the public interest; the only thing they can do is to serve what they perceive as their own interest.
Since this will be the final installment of my editorial on global warming I would like to end with a summary of the entire article. In part one I pointed out that global warming is no longer occurring. In part two I showed that neither human activity nor atmospheric CO2 is responsible for increases in global temperature. In parts three and four I discussed the reasons that the fraud persists in spite of the evidence against it. Chief among these reasons is that other countries throughout the world hate the United States because we are so successful. They know that compliance with the low CO2 standards of the IPCC would cripple our economy. Part five exposed the lie that 97% of the world’s scientists believe that global warming is real, or is caused by human activity. Part five also dealt with the fraud and corruption present in the IPCC, and showed how this organization is responsible for most of the fraud surrounding the global warming issue. In part six, I pointed out that many good climate scientists believe we are actually in a cooling trend. Today in part seven, I continued with that theme, and pointed out how dangerous this cooling trend actually is. I also discussed how dangerous the global warming advocates actually are, and how they seek to serve only their own interests. From a political point of view, I hope that all Americans will continue to support politicians who reject this global warming fraud, and reject any and all politicians who attempt to use this issue to gain unlimited power. As always I will be happy to publish dissenting opinions from any of my readers.

Have you noticed that only mass shooting where an AR patterned firearm is used are the only ones covered by the fake news, like CNN? The purpose of bending the coverage of shootings of all types is to move public opinion. Gun control is a political tool to scare suburban white women to vote for Democrats.
Here are the actual numbers and statistics for mass shooting in the US from 1998 through 2018.
Here are the three big TRUTHS the left is lying about.
- 78% of mass shooting do NOT use an “Assault Rifle”
- As a Percentage of the population, whites, and Hispanics are the LEAST likely to do a mass shooting.
- Gun Control laws have NO effect on mass shootings.
Only 15 of the 67 events involved an “AR patterned” firearm; they are used in less than 22% of mass shootings. Only 22% of all mass shooting used AR style rifles.
As a Percentage of the population, most shooters are of Middle Eastern descent.

The real issue is the ratio of mass shootings to population.

Gun Laws Have No Effect on Mass Shootings
California and Florida both have the greatest number of mass shootings (6 each). The State, with the most restrictive gun laws and the State with the most open gun laws both suffered the same number of mass killings. Exclude the Pulse Night Club shooting, and CA has more casualties than Florida too.
So the left lies about mass shootings. Liberal politicians lie about mass shootings. Why do they lie? To scare suburban white women (who voted 51% for Trump) to be scared enough to vote against their interests and elect a Democrat.

This month’s tip is a book report on two books that I used as references in writing my article on global warming/climate change. The first is Inconvenient Facts by Gregory Wrightstone. This book presents more good data in 123 pages than most books have in ten times that many. It is filled with charts, graphs, lists, pictures, and statements, all of which provide irrefutable evidence that the global warming scenario is a hoax. It is filled with true scientific facts that Al Gore does not want you to know about.
The second book is titled The Delinquent Teenager Who Was Mistaken for the World’s Top Climate Expert by Donna Laframboise. In this small book, the author compares the IPCC to a delinquent teenager that is out of control, and is badly in need of discipline. Ms. Laframboise is a Canadian investigative journalist who does a fantastic job of exposing the corruption of the IPCC. It is well worth reading. Both of these books can be purchased on Amazon.

Rob opened the meeting at 6 PM. with the pledge to the U.S. and Texas flags, followed by the Invocation, delivered by Mike Briggs along with a poem commerating “D” Day.
Wayne, then, recognized our members who are ailing including Ken and Kay Watts and Ken Pescod.
Rob Mounts gave a brief presentation on Texas Law Shield and their new offering, “First Aid for Gun Shot Wounds on Line Course’s” legal protection
Don Larson, then brought a group of Karate experts to give the meager audience a demonstration of their skills.
James Morris asked if everyone received his financial report and if there were any questions concerning it? Being none he announced our non-profit c/7 status was official and no taxes were owed by the club.

The Secretaries’ report included, asking Dennis Morey to order the 8 year hat pins, and then recognized the life of our departed brother, Dale Koslucher. Dale is the seventh HAWK to be called home. Election of officers will take place in two months and ANY MEMBER is allowed and encouraged to run for office. Greg Bova and Rob Tubbs said they would remain in the slots they, currently, fill, but Ron Miranda and James Morris would like to be replaced at their positions, that of Secretary and Treasurer. Ron announced he had three summer weight caps for sale and would reorder the all season caps, and the new shoot hours for the Wednesday the 12th would be lunch at Richie’s at 11 AM., shooting at noon at the range after the Winnsboro P.D. are finished.
He then announced that the Shooting Committee might have opted out of the annual September Awards dinner. The draw back was many of the wives complained they were not interested in the shooting results.
Ron announced the May 23rd poker night was cancelled to show respect for the passing of Dale Koslucher and his memorial scheduled for May 24th. Poker has been rescheduled for June 20th at Miranda’s Man Cave.
He finalized by citing bullet points of being a 501 c/7 tax exempt organization and encouraged all who had 2 year, 5 year or 7 year pins coming just ask as it is all on the honor system.

The friends of the Hawks awarded two 1,500 scholarships to two very deserving graduating high school students this year. Receiving the two scholarships were Jordan Holland of Birthright, TX and Abigail Nichols of Winnsboro, TX. Mr. Holland plans to attend a welding school, and Miss Nichols is pursuing a medical career. In the last two issues of the newsletter we have been discussing reasons so many scientists are willing to lie about the true facts surrounding global warming or climate change. We found that probably the most important reason is that the IPCC is pushing the false narrative. In case you are wondering why the IPCC is so determined to promote a phony scheme that they must know is false, well here is the answer. All of their plans to end global warming involve the elimination of CO2 from the atmosphere, or taxing the businesses that produce it. This process would cripple the United States economy. The IPCC is a child of the UN, which as we all know is probably the most corrupt organization on the planet. This means that the IPCC is made up mostly of people from small third world countries, many of them run by dictators, who do not care about the wellbeing of the United States or its people. These people hate the United States simply because we have achieved more than they have. They would be very happy to cripple our economy. This is not something that happens by accident, but is something they do with malice aforethought. In part I of this article I showed you the evidence that the world is not undergoing warming at this time. The actual warming trend had ended by 1999, and we have been in a cooling trend since then. Some scientists who issue public opinions on the climate think the world may be entering a period of dangerous cold. John Casey is one of those who think that this might be the case. John is a physicist who was employed as a senior field engineer on the space shuttle program; he was a consultant to NASA, as well as an advisor to the White House concerning the US space program. In his job with the space program he needed to keep a close eye on the climate because it could affect shuttle launches. He researched records of climate changes for thousands of years in the past, and he discovered that changes in the climate tend to occur in several cycles; and most of these climate cycles follow sunspot activity. When there are a lot of sunspots, the sun generates more heat, and when sunspots are few in number it generates less heat. Since the sun is the source of heat for the earth, it makes sense that the climate of the earth follows sunspot activity.
According to his calculations, we are on the cusp of a prolonged cooling period. The sun is now moving into a period when sunspot activity is at a minimum, and according to Casey, that will throw the earth into a cooling period that should last until about 2025. The Sahara desert, which is normally one of the hottest places on earth, experienced a light snow in January of 2018. If Casey is correct, and the earth enters a period of extreme cold, the consequences could be quite severe. They would include food shortages, high fuel prices, and possible starvation is some areas. The next link is a presentation from the grand solar minimum channel. The moderator and his wife specialize in debunking global warming. Today they are interviewing John Casey. John Casey was a tireless crusader against the fraud of the global warming crowd, but unfortunately a recent stroke has ended his public appearances. The next link is from adapt 2030, another global warming debunker. Adapt 2030 believes that we are entering another period of severe cold. They track changes in the weather in various areas of the world, and give their audience information on ways to prepare for extreme cold. “STOCKHOLM, Sweden — The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (UN IPCC) is misleading humanity about climate change and sea levels, according to a leading expert on sea levels who served on the UN IPCC. In fact, it is more likely that sea levels will decline, not rise, explained Dr. Nils-Axel Mörner, the retired head of the paleo geophysics and geodynamics at Stockholm University. A new solar-driven cooling period is not far off, he said. But when Mörner tried to warn the UN IPCC that it was publishing false information that would inevitably be discredited, they simply ignored him. And so, dismayed, he resigned in disgust and decided to blow the whistle.
Asked if coastal cities such as Miami would be flooding due to sea-level rise caused by alleged man-made global warming, Mörner was unequivocal: “Absolutely not.” “There is no rapid sea-level rise going on today, and there will not be,” he said, citing observable data. “On the contrary, if anything happens, the sea will go down a little.” The widely respected scientist, who has been tracking sea levels in various parts of the globe for some 50 years, blasted those who use incorrect “correction factors” in their data to make it appear that seas are rising worldwide. That is just wrong, he said.”

This propaganda piece is intended to be scary as hell. There is a group that does not want the US to develop Artificial Intelligence for war. The US develops AI to make business run better and driverless cars. Meanwhile the Chinese use AI to develop the Autonomous Killing Machine to supplement their 200 million person army. The Chinese AKM is way scarier than that little drone, with a camera, and explosive charge.
We all know that criminals cannot be executed on the spot. Criminals have a right to trial, fair treatment, and the various states limit theft crimes to a term of years, not on the spot execution. Three of us took the walking tour of the Johnston Unit, this morning. It was very informative, the Warden, Virgil McMullens, conducted the tour for Rusdon Mills, Grady Sanders and myself. This facility is a good neighbor and an asset to our community.

Things have changed a lot since the sixties; however, if we walked past a group of inmates they would form a single line and put their hands behind their backs until we passed. They were all very friendly and if spoken to they would respond politely.
Regarding a prison tour I used to go to the Huntsville prison a lot back in the late sixties. We had computer systems there to put all highway records on tape. The prisoners got to type the data that was input on an optical reader that we made. The prisoners all wanted one of those jobs as they got to be in an air conditioned room. No TV and games back then. A guard would escort me to the computer room and if an inmate was in the hall he did a brace up against the wall until we passed. They had guards on horseback with pump shotguns in the fields as the prisoners had to grow their own food. It was quite a bit different back then. I never got a chance to see "The Room".

TIPS YOU CAN USE
This month’s tip is a book report. I am reporting on John Casey’s three books. They are Cold Sun, Dark Winter, and Upheaval. Cold Sun was Casey’s first book which outlined the main points of his sunspot/global cooling research. Dark Winter was an updated version of Cold Sun. In Upheaval Casey discusses his research, which indicates that earthquakes and volcanic eruptions tend to occur in cycles that follow the sunspot cycles. He then locates the spots in the US where he thinks earthquakes are likely to occur. While earthquake prediction is not an exact science, his prediction record has a high degree of accuracy. I have read all three of these books and found them very interesting. They can be ordered on Amazon.

Meeting started with Pledge of Allegiance at 6:00 PM by Wayne Scott-President. Wayne asked Mike Briggs to lead the Invocation. Mike led the prayer for ailing HAWKS: Ken Pescod, Dennis Morey, Dale Koslucher, Rob Tubbs and Paul Fletcher’s wife. All are on the prayer list.
Wayne Scott introduced Warden Virgil McMullen - Johnston Unit-Winnsboro, Texas. Virgil gave a 40 minute presentation on his experiences as Warden for the state of Texas the past 20 some years. Johnston unit has roughly 500 prisoners with a staff of roughly 80 corrections officers. The Johnston unit is one of 2 units in Texas that provides mostly rehabilitation and counseling and is very successful bringing the felon back into society. They also support the community and non-profits in the region and all over the state. Virgil also offered the HAWKS a tour of the facility and Wayne Scott promised to set a time.
James Morris was next regarding his treasurer report. There were no questions and we are solvent. James recently met with the CPA and our taxes were filed and all reports for the Feds were submitted. James thinks our status with the Feds and our C/7 should be resolved in a month or so.
James also mentioned later in the meeting he is working with the FOH board to do a fundraiser concert scheduled for Nov. 2, 2019 in Mineola, Texas. Dale Cummins will be the MC and it will feature a major country musician. More details to be provided by James at a later date as details of the concert will be worked out with Mineola administrators. Wayne mentioned if this is a city event FOH may be entitled to a reduced fee for the city stage as a nonprofit.
George Brown our webmaster had a no specific report but has been working with Neal Duncan on web site improvements and ease.
Greg Bova -Info officer was asked by President Scott to present the secretary report in for Ron Miranda who is ill with the Asian Flu. Greg asked the membership if the recent April Minutes on the web site were read and if there were any questions. None were asked and motion was made and voted on to approve the April Minutes on the web site.
Range report and shooting committee report by Ron Smith-RSO was given. Noted 3 items:
Item 1. May 4 the Kid shoot is set and we need all HAWKS whether an RSO or not to help. Invitation was sent to the WCG which has roughly 450 members and there may be a lot of kids coming Saturday.
Item 2. Shooting committee is meeting next Wednesday to discuss how to get more “range or target masters” needed for the Wednesday shoots. This is a fun time and everyone welcome to attend and become involved with the Wednesday shoot for HAWKS and breakfast.
Item 3. Ron noted Ritchie’s - Mabell has offered to pay for the winner’s breakfast every Wednesday. This is a very nice gesture from Ritchie’s to keep the HAWKS happy. Ron noted the winner’s breakfast should be under $10.00.
James Morris also mentioned that Mabell got with him recently and wants to make sure the HAWKS annual dinner was still being planned for at their restaurant, she will make sure the last dinner they had problems with service and staffing; but, that will be rectified in the future. I mentioned a more simplified menu would be helpful also. Ritchie’s hopes we will use their facility for the HAWKS 2019 annual dinner. James asked for a show of hands for those who want to attend the dinner at Ritchie’s, and it seemed pretty much all the membership affirmed.
Next was a Friends of the HAWKS (FOTH) presentation by Roman Eble and Ken Watts. Roman told us they have up to $3,000 for scholarships and appreciates all HAWKS help with pledges and fundraisers. More fundraising will be for 2020 scholarships as this is 1st year of inception for FOTH. Ken Watts told us the FOTH board offered 2 scholarships for 1 student in Winnsboro and 1 student in Hopkins County. However it was noted in a FOTH scholarship committee that 1 viable candidate was voted on for a 2000.00 scholarship. The requirement was to select a local Winnsboro student in a trade or vocational program. There is conflicting information on the FOTH BOD action vs FOTH scholarship committee action. The FOTH board will resolve.
Jimmy Chiles gave a quick report on the VIP program. Jimmy reported on May 25th there is a walking Winnsboro History day for the public to attend and some VIP will be needed for traffic control. Jimmy will provide additional details of his meeting the Captain Hill next week.
Wayne asked if there was any new business for the good of the club and none brought up and closed the meeting at 7:15 PM.

SCIENTIFIC FRAUD PART V BY George Brown
In part one I showed that global warming is not taking place at this time, and we are experiencing a period of global cooling. The climate hustlers know this and changed their theme to climate change in order to conceal the fact that global warming is not occurring. In part two I gave conclusive evidence that carbon dioxide (CO2) is not responsible for global warming. This should be obvious when the fraudsters claim that too much atmospheric CO2 will cause both global warming and global cooling, depending on which lie they are promoting today. In parts three and four we discussed various reasons the fraud is so persistent.
Today we will be discussing the claim that 97% of the world’s scientists say that the world is warming, that the change is very dangerous to life, and that it is caused by human activity. The answer to this is very simple; it is a lie. The 97% figure was reported by Maggie Zimmerman, who was a graduate student at the University of Illinois. She is hardly a world class authority on climate. Zimmerman collected papers from 3,146 scientists. Of these scientists only 79 of their peer reviewed papers were about climate change. Of these 79, 97% said that human activity had caused the recent increase in global temperature. So the actual numbers are 79 out of 3,146. Thus the actual percentage is 2%, not 97%. Of this 2%, most had research grants and were dependent on government funding. In order to continue receiving government funding for their pet projects their conclusions had to please the government. Remember, this happened in 2009, when Obama was president, and he had a religious commitment to anthropogenic global warming. Scientists who agreed with Obama got their next project funded; scientists who disagreed received no funding.
Scientific research usually requires a great deal of money, and an Obama controlled government could defund and stop any kind or research that reached conclusions that it did not like. The golden age of scientific advancement, occurred mostly in the late 18th century through the 19th and early 20th centuries when taxes were low, and scientific projects could be financed by private funds. Today, because the government consumes so much, there is not as much private money available to fund scientific projects. Thus, most scientific projects are dependent on government financing, which in turn depends on government approval, and governments just will not fund any research project that reaches conclusions that they do not like.
The above paragraphs deal with the general situation today. Now let’s look at some specific details. When the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) first met many of the world’s distinguished scientists were invited to participate, but when it became obvious that the dialog was being driven by political concerns, they dropped out. In other cases scientists whose known opinions disagreed with the preconceived outcome that the IPCC wanted were never invited at all.
When the IPCC made their final report (which was composed of false data and lies) they included the names of all the scientists who had ever attended whether they agreed with the conclusions or not. They even included the names of the people who dropped out because of their objections to the corrupt process. Several scientists requested that their names be removed from the report, but the IPCC refused. Most of the scientists who stayed in IPCC and agreed with the report were not climate scientists, but had some other specialty. Most were young unknown scientists, who were eager to establish a name for themselves, so they were eager to please the political powers that financed their projects. The IPCC is not the only scientific group concerned with global warming. The Nongovernmental Panel on Climate Change (NPCC) is an organization sponsored by The Heartland Institute that is circulating a petition on line which is hostile to anthropogenic global warming, and instead dedicated to speaking the truth. It has been endorsed by 31,487 scientists, 9,029 of which have PhDs. Thus it is much more likely that any scientific consensus does not support anthropogenic global warming. Donna Laframboise is a journalist who became concerned about the shallow research of contemporary journalists regarding the global warming debate. She started a web page dedicated to the issue, which enlisted the help of her viewers. As her research progressed she discovered that the IPCC was totally corrupt and dishonest. We held our third and final “Kid Shoot” today at the WGC range. At 6 am. this morning my rain gauge topped 4 and ½ inches and I thought another rain out!!! However, by noon the sun was out and temperatures were on the rise. I began to think, ah, maybe, just maybe we’ll get at least one in, this year.
The clock struck ONE!!!
We had ten coaches and no shooters. Yep, NO SHOOTERS!!!
The disappointment on one coaches’ face was magnifying. After all of Wayne’s work, planning and notifying, he, or none of us, deserved a zero. It’s too hard to believe that parents don’t give a damn about their kids learning to handle firearms, safely. It’s hard to believe that east Texans are losing their love affair with guns. It’s hard to believe that we are so enamored with our smart phones that we don’t even know our own kids.
Sad…
We as prospective teachers and instructors need to do some soul searching and find a better way to get our message out to our kids.
To the loyal coaches, don’t lose faith, don’t give up the ship, hang in there and give us your input.

Rob opened the meeting at 6 pm. with the pledge to the U.S. and Texas flags, followed by the Invocation, delivered by Mike.
Wayne, then, recognized our members who are ailing including Dennis Morey, Dave Koch, Dale Koslucher, including Roman Elbe’s mother, who continues to ail.
Wayne then recognized new member Cleatus “Cleat” Briscoe.
Paul asked the members to give Sheriff Lewis Tatum of Hopkins County a warm welcome. Sheriff Tatum expounded on the progress Hopkins County has made in financing projects designed for rehabilitation of the inmates residing in the County Jail. The projects included gardening, animal care, county projects to benefit the communities and maintaining their own commissary.
In the Treasurer’s absence, Information Officer, Greg Bova gave the financial report to the members, followed by the Webmaster’s report on the HAWK’S website.
George explained the HAWKS’ website and the WGC’s continues to experience trouble with the classified sections of each.
Ron M. was next with the Secretaries’ report which he began apologizing to the members for the lack of information due to his recent health issues, limiting him over the last two months.
He, then, reported the Board had not responded to his proposal on purchasing the 10 year service pins instead of 7 yr., 8yr., and the 10 yr. pins.
A new poker day was set for Tuesday, April 16th at 2 pm., at Miranda’s Man Cave.
He, then, said he had discussed with James Dugger a road trip to Miranda Lambert’s steak house in Lindale, a new steak restaurant in Quitman or the Red Robin restaurant in Hawkins. The idea would be taken up by the Hospitality Committee and reported on at a later meeting.
Ron, also, informed the members that a local store in Winnsboro is now doing embroidering and possibly patch application, that being Clara Ida Francis Co.
In the area of New Business, Ron, suggested adjustments to be made to the website to make accessing the electronic on line scholarship application easier to find.
Finally, he announced the club had five (5) caps left, 2 all year and 3 summer style caps left, for sale.
Ron S. followed with the Kid shoot report asking for coaches for this Saturday’s event and told the members we had 19 shooters this past Wednesday and invited all to participate. He, also, reported that the Shooting Committee was reformed with the leaving of Scott, Pescod and Miranda and the addition of Larry Murphy, Jeff Paddock and James Dugger.
Roman was asked for a Friends of HAWKS’ report and stated the FOTH had some $2,000 appropriated for scholarships and Ken Watts and Johnny Wetzel are currently calling on businesses for donations. He sent around the pledge fund sheet for anyone to sign up to help and anyone can donate or pledge on the website and receive an automatic receipt for a tax deduction.
Jimmy was asked for a VIP report and said the response to the Hooves & Halos event was very well attended, including some 1200 students that participated. He then asked if any of the members would like to join the VIPs.
Wayne asked if there was any new business to come before the club, with nobody having any additional input he asked for an adjournment.

HAWK HONORED FOR HIS SERVICE
Johnny Wetzel was honored for his past service to the Friends of the Hawks (FOTH) organization. FOTH is an offshoot of the HAWKS and was created primarily as a 501(c)3 organization to handle the charity work that the HAWKS like to engage in. Johnny served as the first president of FOTH and was instrumental in getting the new organization started.
SCIENTIFIC FRAUD PART IV BY GEORGE BROWN
In part III of this article I discussed incompetence as being one reason that the lies about global warming persist. Today I will demonstrate that lust for power is another reason that the phony issue won’t go away. The global warming fraud is a form of Lysenkoism. The broad definition of Lysenkoism is the subversion of legitimate science to political whims. The story starts in Communist Russia.
Trofim Lysenko was a Russian biologist who lived between 1898 and 1976. He rejected the ideas of Mendel concerning genetics, and instead believed that physical characteristics of living organisms could be acquired from their environment. Lysenko had no scientific education at all, but Stalin liked him because he was a good communist, and because his claim that he could alter the genetics of living organisms by altering their environment was a perfect match with the communist idea that individuals are of no consequence. Thus the Communists believed that with proper environmental stimulation, any human, animal, or plant can be made to behave any way you might desire. As an example a farmer can make his peach trees produce sweeter peaches by pouring sugar water around the tree as the peaches are developing. Another example of Lysenko’s lunacy is that you should plant seeds very close together, since growing plants don’t compete with each other for nutrients, instead they try to help each other.
Since Lysenko had the power of the communist government behind him, he was able to enforce his will on the Russian scientific community. Scientists who rejected his theories were fired from their jobs, placed in psychiatric hospitals and some were even sentenced to death as enemies of the state. Lysenko managed to set back Russian biology and agronomy over 100 years with his stupid ideas. Neither he nor Stalin ever figured out that these were bad ideas. When the Communist farm program failed the disastrous result was that thousands of Russian peasants died. Stalin blamed it on sabotage by political enemies and used it as an excuse to execute more people.
But that was in communist Russia; it can’t happen here you say. Really? Democratic Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, from Rhode Island, wants to jail global warming dissenters. Although he backed away from that statement after it received publicity, his initial outburst shows his true feelings. The new wave of progressives that entered congress at the last election are actually closet fascists, who if will not shrink from using the power of government to destroy their political opponents. We have been witnessing exactly that for the last two years. I am sure that if they had their way, they would put me in jail for writing this article.
So you see that lust for power on the part of politicians is perpetuating the phony global warming issue. But that is not the only thing that keeps the global warming scandal going. Governmental lust for money plays a very large roll. And here I am referring to the fact that most governments are always looking for new ways to extract money from the people they govern. Leftist governments need a constant supply of new money flowing into the treasury because they need that money to use as bribes to buy votes from the voters. If they can convince the population that CO2 is damaging the planet then they can pin a carbon tax on every person, even babies, because all people exhale CO2. And if this sounds crazy to you I would like to remind you that this has already happened in France. Within the last few weeks, there were riots in France because of a new carbon tax. In the US, carbon taxes on fuels have long been part of our tax structure. But the new idea is to place a personal tax on individuals because they exhale CO2. If we see more people like AOC take office, personal carbon taxes will be commonplace.
This concludes part IV. In the next issue I will discuss the claim than thousands of scientists support the idea that the whole planet is in danger from global warming. Ken Watts’ son, Kevin caught a huge bass at Ken’s lake. Ken described this as a medium sized fish, saying there are bass in the lake that are much larger. They also caught about forty large perch.
NEWS: Freedom Financing Act Would Protect Firearms Industry from Corporate Discrimination: by Politico

Sen. Kevin Cramer is introducing legislation, the Freedom Financing Act, designed to discourage big banks from cutting off the firearms industry, the latest response to moves by lenders such as Citigroup and Bank of America that have distanced themselves from the gun business.
The North Dakota Republican’s legislation would curb banks’ access to loans from the Federal Reserve’s discount window if they refused to serve legal firearms businesses for reasons outside of “traditional” underwriting.
The bill would also restrict payment card networks from declining to serve the industry because of political or reputational concerns.
“A small number of banks controlling most of the financial sector could effectively illegalize legal commerce by refusing to finance certain industries or process certain transactions,” Cramer said. “Look no further than pro-Second Amendment industries where such discrimination has already occurred. Big banks should not be the arbiters of constitutionality.”
Sen. John Kennedy, a Louisiana Republican who is co-sponsoring the bill, said the legislation would “ban big banks from refusing to do business with customers that may not share the same political values as the bank.”
Cramer and Kennedy are members of the Senate Banking Committee, where Chairman Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) has also made clear he has concerns about lenders cutting off the gun industry.

After being no-billed by a Grand Jury, or cleared in a criminal trial, we feel that frivolous civil suits should be off the table and restricted by Texas Law.
After many conversations with you and your colleagues, and understanding your willingness to step forward to protect the law-abiding citizens of our great state, this seems to be a step in the right direction. Consider this as a plea to create a bill that would serve to protect our citizens by law.

I discussed the “Green New Deal” last month’s newsletter. Bill Rogers has sent us some more information about it which I have included this month. This "Green New Deal" is supposed to stop global warming and save us. What we really need to be saved from are the idiots that think this is a good idea. I hope none of our representatives are gullible enough to fall for this nonsense.

Eliminate air travel. GND calls for building out “high speed rail at a scale where air travel stops becoming necessary.” Good luck Hawaii! California’s high-speed boondoggle is already in $100 billion dollars of debt, and looks to be one of the state’s biggest fiscal disasters ever. Amtrak runs billions of dollars in the red (though, as we’ll see, trains will also be phased out). Imagine growing that business model out to every state in America?
A salubrious diet. The GND promises the government will provide “healthy food” to every American (because there are no beans or lettuce in your local supermarket, I guess).
Free money. The GND aims to provide, and I am not making this up, “economic security” for all who are “unable or unwilling” to work. Just to reiterate: if you’re unwilling to work, the rest of us will have your back.
This basically sounds like a complete undoing of everything great about living in a free country. These ideas are so bad they would be funny if they had not come from duly-elected members of the United States Congress

Rob Tubbs opened the meeting with the pledge to the U.S. and Texas flags, Paul Fletcher followed with the Invocation.
Wayne then acknowledged long time absent members, and those with health issues. Wayne introduced new member Terry Oertwig as our evening’s speaker, who explained his business venture into hunting and recreational ammunition manufacture, including his association with Barnes Ammunition of North Dakota. Terry furnished samples of bullets and pictures of animals that had been harvested by friends and hunters using his products. It is a rare treat to have a person as knowledgeable and talented to share his 40 years of experience, as a member of HAWKS. Terry is, also, an enthusiast in muzzle loading and black powder firearms, along with high-speed ballistics. Terry invites you to visit his website at www.thorbullets.com.
James Morris was called on for a Treasurer’s report and stated last month’s figures had been sent to all members. He went on to say the Friends of HAWKS are now on Facebook with a report carried below in their section.
Webmaster George Brown gave his report on the HAWKS’ website and stated the Friends of HAWKS website had the ability to provide a student application on line along with a “PayPal” donation app for a donor’s convenience and furnishing that donor with a tax deductible receipt.
Secretary Miranda made a final plea for ticket sales to the Friends of Animal Shelter’s Casino Night, this Saturday night. He announced the canceled February poker night was rescheduled for March 21st. at Miranda’s Man Cave. Ron stated he still had a supply of 2 year, 5 year and 7 year service pins for anyone who needed one and that he was looking into purchasing 8 year, 9 year and 10 year pins, in addition to keeping a running record of who qualifies for which year. He stated he still had a supply of caps for sale and could order shirts for any member who would like one. The Hospitality Committee was inactive due to the chairman’s recent illness but one committee member had a lengthy discussion with the owner of Richie’s restaurant concerning last year’s delays and how to correct them. The proposed fishing tournament is on hold for further information.
In Ron Smith’s absence, Wayne Scott brought the members up to speed on the past Saturday’s “Kid Shoot” which fielded 10 coaches and no shooters, which was blamed on the rough winter weather. The next Kid’s Shoot is scheduled for April 6th at the WGC range.
Roman was asked to update the members on the Friends of HAWKS progress; he stated the FOTH had $2,000 to commit to the scholarship program, so far. Ken Watts explained the group’s plan to solicit local businesses for support, including the new manager of the local newspaper. He conducted an interview with Ken which should appear in the next edition, outlining the goals of the FOTH. He, also, added the program was designed to help kids get into trade schools as opposed to general college, as trade school participants tend to be overlooked at scholarship time. Donations and assistance will be concentrated on Winnsboro ISD, Harmony ISD, Como ISD and Mt Vernon ISD, for starters.
Jimmy Chiles reported on the VIP’s activity including several members filling in for Jody Hettick, Chief of WISD police, during his training absence. This was covered by Wayne Scott, Jimmy Chiles and Mel Mellenburger, which was appreciated by faculty and parents, alike. Jimmy continued reporting on the upcoming “Hooves and Halos”, a Christian based program to introduce kids to animals. The VIPs will be needed for traffic and crowd control on March 26th, starting at 8:45 Am., at the City Park rodeo arena.
Wayne asked if there was any new business to come before the club, with there being none, he adjourned the meeting.

SCIENTIFIC FRAUD PART III BY GEORGE BROWN
In part one I showed that while global warming was taking place in the recent past that trend peaked in 1999, and we are now experiencing a period of global cooling. The IPCC tried to cover up this fact, but when it became well known the global warming crowd became embarrassed by it and changed their mantra from global warming to climate change. That statement is correct, the climate does change, but the global climate has been experiencing natural cycles for millions of years, and these cycles have nothing to do with the presence or absence of humans on the planet.
In part two I gave conclusive evidence that carbon dioxide is not responsible for global warming. Increased atmospheric carbon dioxide is a result of increased global temperatures, not a cause of it. Warming trends precede the rise of atmospheric carbon dioxide by approximately 800 years. These two facts alone are enough to end the debate over global warming, and send the climate fraudsters scurrying back under their rocks. How then has their ridiculous argument managed to survive?
While watching Fox news today I heard a hysterical news commentator say that unless our country takes drastic measures to stop it, the planet will be uninhabitable in twelve years. Actually this reporter got her talking points from Alexandre Ocasio Cortez (known as AOC by her fans) and AOC got her talking points confused. The original global warming time table was an earth devoid of life by 2012. When that did not happen the story had to be revised, and so global warming became climate change, and the time table was changed to twelve years in the future. It will always be twelve years in the future. When it is always in the future they will never have to explain why it didn’t happen.
AOC is an attractive female with a nice smile, and a pleasant appearance. She has a dancing video on the web. I watched it and she is quite good at it. Unfortunately, she is not good at anything that requires intelligent thought. As with many politicians now she was selected because of her pleasant appearance and not for her intellectual powers.
AOC has teamed with Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey and they recently revealed a new proposal they call a green new deal. The green new deal involves redesigning and rebuilding every building in the United States to make them all fuel efficient. While this vast construction project is going on, the people will all be moved into temporary tent cities in California. We will also have to get rid of cars, airplanes, and all other machinery that operates on an internal combustion engine. This includes all forms of private, commercial, and industrial transportation, whether land, sea, or air based. Only trains will be allowed. Next, we will all have to become vegetarians. Cows, pigs, sheep, and other animals will all have to be eliminated because they exhale carbon dioxide. Say goodbye to your family dog. And if animals aren’t enough, if she has her way, couples will not even be allowed to have children because babies exhale CO2.
AOC and Markey apparently have the ability to memorize a few phrases and squawk them back at people like parrots, but they are not able to understand complex scientific or technical details, and they are wildly impractical. Even worse, they are not concerned with the negative effects their stupid ideas may have on the lives of their fellow countrymen. They are only concerned with maintaining their political power. The attempted implementation of these measures would cost trillions of dollars and result in the death of thousands of Americans. But they really don’t care. Their real plan is to frighten people into believing the planet is in terrible danger and that only an enlightened few such as Markey and AOC will be able to save them. They hope this fraud will assure them perpetual power.
While doing research for this article, I located even more interesting information about AOC. This young woman who thinks she is capable of running the US economy, has a credit rating of 430, has been evicted from her apartment twice for nonpayment, and cannot get an apartment in Washington DC because of her low credit rating. It seems that AOC considers herself to be in charge of the nation’s morals, but according to Ben Shapiro, she is a very immoral person. You cannot be morally right unless you are factually correct first. All this trouble and expense will be for a project that, according to real experts such as climate expert Richard Lindzen, will have a negligible effect on global temperature. Richard Lindzen holds a Ph.D. in atmospheric physics and was a professor of climatology at MIT until his retirement. He is one of the world’s foremost experts on climate, and a severe critic of anthropogenic global warming. I have included some links to presentations by professor Lindzen. This has been a long way of showing that lust for power on the part of immoral, incompetent politicians and the dishonest news media that serves them is perpetuating the phony global warming issue. Equally to blame are the people who elected these politicians. One thing that would help to solve the problem of incompetent politicians might be to raise the voting age to at least 25 or perhaps even 30. A person’s brain is not fully developed before age 25, so it is difficult for them to make intelligent informed decisions before that age.
It has been fun bashing AOC, but government incompetence and the incompetence of the people who elect them is not the only thing that keeps the global warming scandal going. In the next part of this series, which will appear next month, I will discuss other factors at play in this issue. Robert Mueller has a long and sordid history of illicitly targeting innocent people that is a stain upon the legacy of American jurisprudence. He lacks the judgment and credibility to lead the prosecution of anyone.
What I have accumulated here is absolutely shocking upon the realization that Mueller's disreputable, twisted history speaks to the character of the man placed in a position to attempt to legalize a coup against a lawfully-elected President.

In his early years as FBI Director, most Republican members of Congress gave Mueller a pass in oversight hearings, allowing him to avoid tough questions. After all, we were continually told, “Bush appointed him.” I gave him easy questions the first time I questioned him in 2005 out of deference to his Vietnam service.

MUELLER’S MINIONS HELP MOBSTER WHITEY BULGER ELIMINATE MOB COMPETITORS “[Mike] Albano [former Parole Board Member who was threatened by two F.B.I. agents for considering parole for the men imprisoned for a crime they did not commit] was appalled that, later that same year, Mueller was appointed FBI director, because it was Mueller, first as an assistant US attorney then as the acting U.S. attorney in Boston, who wrote letters to the parole and pardons board throughout the 1980s opposing clemency for the four men framed by FBI lies. Of course, Mueller was also in that position while Whitey Bulger was helping the FBI cart off his criminal competitors even as he buried bodies in shallow graves along the Neponset...”
Mueller was the head of the Criminal Division as Assistant U.S. Attorney, then as Acting U.S. Attorney. I could not find any explanation online by Mueller as to why he insisted on keeping the defendants in prison that FBI agents—in the pocket of Whitey Bulger— had framed for a murder they did not commit. Make no mistake: these were not honorable people he had incarcerated. But it was part of a pattern that eventually became quite clear that Mueller was more concerned with convicting and putting people in jail he disliked, even if they were innocent of the charges, than he was with ferreting out the truth.
I found no explanation as to why he did not bear any responsibility for the $100 million paid to the defendants who were framed by FBI agents under his control. The Boston Globe said, “Thanks to the FBI’s corruption, taxpayers got stuck with the $100 million bill for compensating the framed men, two of whom, Greco and Tameleo, died in prison.”

CONGRESSMAN CURT WELDON DEFEATED BY MUELLER’S FBI
During my first term in Congress, 2005-2006, Congressman Curt Weldon delivered some powerful and relentless allegations about the FBI having prior knowledge that 9- 11 was coming. He alleged loudly and vociferously that there was documentary evidence to show that 9-11 could have been prevented and thousands of lives saved if the FBI had done their job. My recollection is that he may have even accused them of intentionally turning their heads. He held up documents at times while making these claims in speeches on the floor of the House of Representatives.

I was surprised that FBI Director Mueller seemed to take those allegations without the major response that appeared to be appropriate, at least to me. It seemed he should either admit the FBI made significant mistakes or refute the allegations. The FBI certainly did not need to conduct an unsupervised search of a Congressman’s office to put their unbeatable case at risk. Apparently, the risk was worth it to Mueller so he could show the Members of Congress who could harass or destroy them whenever he wished. Apparently, the FBI knew just the right federal judge who would disregard the Constitution and allow Mueller’s minions to do their dirty work.

If an FBI Director has inappropriate personal vengeance in mind or holds an inappropriate prejudice such as those that infamously motivated Director J. Edgar Hoover, then … One other problem remained that will be discussed in more detail later in this article. Before Mueller became Director, FBI agents were trained to identify certain Muslims who had radicalized and become dangerous. Mueller purged and even eliminated training that would have helped identify radical Islamic killers.

NATIONAL SECURITY LETTER ABUSES
National Security Letters (NSL) are a tool that allows the DOJ to bypass the formality of subpoenas, applications for warrants with affidavits in support, and instead simply send a letter to an individual, business or any entity they so choose to demand that records or documents of any kind must be produced and provided to the sender. The letter also informs the recipient that if the recipient reveals to anyone that the letter was received or what it requires to be produced, then the recipient has committed a federal felony and will be prosecuted … Unfortunately, the day came when we learned that there had been an extraordinary number of abuses. Apparently, some of Mueller’s FBI agents had just been sending out demands for records or documents without any probable cause as the Fourth Amendment requires. Some agents were on outright fishing expeditions just to find out what different people were doing … When the Inspector General’s report revealed such absolutely outrageous conduct by FBI agents, some of us in Congress were absolutely livid.
With Mueller as his mentor and confidant, is it any surprise that we’re now finding James Comey’s FBI found additional ways to monitor Americans and plot with Democrat loyalists in an attempt to oust a duly-elected President?

THE WITCH HUNT AGAINST REPUBLICAN SENATOR TED STEVENS AND HIS TRAGIC DEATH
Ted Stevens had served in the U.S. Senate since 1968 and was indicted in 2008 by the U.S. Justice Department. One would think before the U.S. government would seek to destroy a sitting U.S. Senator, there would be no question whatsoever of his guilt. One would be completely wrong in thinking so when the FBI Director is Robert Mueller.
Such a glowing reputation certainly did not inhibit Mueller’s FBI from putting Stevens in its cross-hairs, pushing to get an indictment that came 100 days before his election, and engaging in third world dictator-type tactics to help an innocent man lose his election, … truth came rolling out of the framing and conviction of Senator Stevens, the new Attorney General Eric Holder, had no choice. He “abandoned the Stevens case in April 2009 after uncovering new and ‘disturbing’ details about the prosecution...” Unfortunately for Ted Stevens, his conviction came only eight days before his election, which tipped the scales on a close election.

Roll Call went on to state:“But relying on false records and fueled by testimony from a richly rewarded ‘cooperating’ witness... government prosecutors convinced jurors to find him guilty just eight days before the general election which he lost by less than 2 percent of the vote.”
After a report substantiated massive improprieties by the FBI and DOJ in the investigation and prosecution of Senator Stevens, the result was ultimately a complete dismissal of the conviction.

In August of 2010, former Senator Stevens boarded his doomed plane. But for the heinous, twisted and corrupt investigation by the FBI, and inappropriate prosecution by the DOJ, he would have still been a sitting U.S. Senator. Don’t forget, one vote in the Senate was critical to ObamaCare becoming law also. If Senator Stevens was still there, it would not have become law.
If you wonder what happened to the valuable FBI agent who was an upstanding whistleblower with a conscience, you should know that in Mueller’s FBI, Special Agent Joy was terribly mistreated. Orders came down from on high that he was not to participate in any criminal investigation again, which is the FBI management’s way of forcing an agent out of the FBI. On the other hand, the FBI agent who was said to have manufactured evidence against Senator Stevens while hiding evidence of his innocence was treated wonderfully and continued to work important criminal cases for Director Mueller.

Mueller didn’t exactly distinguish himself with contrition, either. In 2008, after Ivins committed suicide as he was about to be apprehended for his anthrax letter crimes, and the Justice Department had formally exonerated Hatfill – and paid him $5.82 million in a legal settlement ($2.82+150,000/yr. for 20 yrs)… When reporters did ask him about it, Mueller was graceless. “I do not apologize for any aspect of the investigation …”

Either Mueller was wrong when he said it would be a mistake, “to say there were mistakes,” in the railroading of Hatfill or Mueller did intentionally and knowingly persecute an innocent man.
THE FRAMING OF SCOOTER LIBBY
In 2003, during yet another fabricated and politically-charged FBI investigation, this one "searching" for the leak of CIA agent Valery Plame's identity to the media. Robert Mueller’s very dear close friend James Comey was at the time serving as the Deputy Attorney General. Comey convinced then Attorney General John Ashcroft that he should recuse himself from the Plame investigation. At the time, Ashcroft was in the hospital. After Deputy A.G. Comey was successful in securing Ashcroft's recusal, Comey then got to choose the Special Counsel.

The entire episode was further revealed as a fraud when it was later made public that Special Prosecutor Fitzgerald, FBI Director Mueller, and Deputy Attorney Comey had very early on learned that the source of Plame’s identity leak came from Richard Armitage. Nonetheless, Fitzgerald, Mueller and Comey pursued Cheney’s chief of staff, Scooter Libby, as a path to ensnare the Vice President. According to multiple reports, Fitzgerald had twice offered to drop all charges against Libby if he would ‘deliver’ Cheney to him.
Could it be that these same tactics have been used against an innocent Gen. Mike Flynn? Could it be that Flynn only agreed to plead guilty to prevent any family members from being unjustly prosecuted and to also prevent going completely broke from attorneys’ fees?

The real culprit of the allegation for which the Special Counsel was appointed, and massive amounts of tax payer dollars expended was Richard Armitage. A similar technique was used against Martha Stewart. After all, Mueller’s FBI developed both cases. If the desired crime to be prosecuted was never committed, then talk to someone you want to convict until you find something that others are willing to say was not true. Then you can convict them of lying to the FBI… Unfortunately, Mueller has left a wake of innocent people whom he has crowned with criminal records.

MUELLER’S ‘COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP’ WITH DOJ ALLEGED CO-CONSPIRATORS OF TERRORISM
In 2011, in one of the House Judiciary Committee’s oversight hearings, FBI Director Mueller repeatedly testified during questioning by various Members about how the Muslim community was just like every other religious community in the United States. He also referenced an “Outreach Program” the FBI had with the Muslim community.

I see you had mentioned earlier, and it's in your written statement, that the FBI’s developed extensive outreach to Muslim communities and in answer to an earlier question I understood you to say that you know Muslim communities were like all other communities, so I'm curious as the result of the extensive outreach program the FBI's had to the Muslim community, how is your outreach program going with the Baptists and the Catholics?
MUELLER: I'm not certain of, necessarily the rest of that, the question I would say -- there are outreach to all segments of a particular city or county or society is good.
GOHMERT: Well do you have a particular program of outreach to Hindus, Buddhists, Jewish community, agnostics or is it just an extensive outreach program to –
MUELLER: We have outreach to every one of those communities.
GOHMERT: And how do you do that?
MUELLER: Every one of those communities can be affected can be affected by facts or circumstance.
GOHMERT: I've looked extensively, and I haven't seen anywhere in any one from the FBI's letters, information that there's been an extensive outreach program to any other community …

GOHMERT: Are you aware of the case, Director?
MUELLER: – relationship with CAIR because of concerns –
GOHMERT: Well I've got the letter from the Assistant Director Richard Powers that says in light of the evidence … So, I'm a little surprised that you're reluctant to discuss something that's already been set out in an order, that's already been in a letter …

What Director Mueller was intentionally deceptive about was that the FBI had apparently maintained a relationship and even “community partnership” instigated on his watch with CAIR and other groups and individuals that his FBI had evidence showing they were co-conspirators to terrorism. Mueller set up a separate cover through the Office of Public Affairs and allowed them to work together, despite the terrorist connections. That was the cultivated atmosphere of Mueller’s FBI.
The DOJ actually set out in writing in an indictment that CAIR and some of the people Mueller was coddling were supporters of terrorism. In late 2008, the DOJ got convictions against all those formally indicted, so DOJ could then move forward with formally indicting and convicting the rest—EXCEPT that the November 2008 election meant it was now going to be the OBAMA DOJ with Eric Holder leading. The newly-named but not confirmed Attorney General apparently made clear they were not going to pursue any of the named co-conspirators.
PURGING THE FBI TRAINING MATERIALS
We repeatedly see cases where people were radicalized, came on the FBI radar, but the federal agents were looking for Islamophobes, not the terrorists standing in front of them. That is because Mueller’s demand of his FBI Agents, in the New Age to which he brought them, was to look for Islamophobes.

If a Mueller-trained FBI agent got a complaint about a potential radical Islamist who may pose a threat, the agent must immediately recognize that the one complaining is most likely an Islamophobe. That means the agent should first investigate whether the complainant is guilty of a hate crime.
ORLANDO: The mass killer who attacked the Pulse nightclub in June 2016, Omar Mateen, had been interviewed by the FBI on THREE separate occasions.
NORTHWEST AIRLINES: Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab boarded Detroit- bound Northwest Flight 253 on Christmas Day 2009 with 289 other passengers wearing an underwear bomb intended to murder them all.
He was well-known to U.S. intelligence officials before he boarded.

Only one month before the attempted bombing, Abdulmutallab’s father had actually gone to the U.S. embassy in Nigeria and met with two CIA officers. He directly told the CIA that he was concerned about his son’s extremism.
Prior to the bombing of the Boston Marathon by Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev in April 2013 that killed three people and injured 264 others, the FBI had been tipped off. Twice. Initially, the FBI denied ever meeting with Tamerlan. They later claimed that they followed up on the lead, couldn’t find anything in their databases linking him to terrorism, and quickly closed the case.

That is apparently Mueller’s efforts to play figurative patty-cake with the leaders and tell them how wonderful they are and how crazy all those Islamaphobes out there are, but they surely got assurance that Mueller’s FBI is after those bigots. In Director Mueller’s efforts to appease and please co-conspirators of terrorism, he was keenly attuned to their complaints that the FBI training materials on radical Islam said some things about Islamic terrorists that offended some Muslims. Never mind that the main offense was done to the American people by radical Islamists who wanted to kill Americans and destroy our way of life.

PURGING THE ADVANCED COUNTER-TERRORISM AGENTS’ TRAINING MATERIALS
FBI Special Agent Kim Jensen had spent a great deal of his adult life studying radical Islam. He is personally responsible for some extraordinary undercover work that remains classified to this day. He was tasked with putting together a program to train our more experienced FBI agents to locate and identify radicalized Muslims on the threshold of violence. Jensen had done this well before Mueller began to cozy up with and pander to groups such as CAIR.
Complaints by similar groups caused Mueller to once again demand that our agents could not be properly instructed on radical Islam. Accordingly, Jensen’s approximately 700-pages of advanced training material on radical Islam were eliminated from FBI training and all copies were ordered destroyed. When Director Mueller decides he wants our federal agents to be blind and ignorant of radical Islam, they are indeed going to

MUELLER’S UNETHICAL ACCEPTANCE OF APPOINTMENT AS SPECIAL PROSECUTOR
Robert Mueller had more than one direct conflict of interest that should have prohibited him from serving as the Special Counsel to investigate President Donald Trump. For one thing, President Trump fired his close friend and confidante, disgraced FBI Director James Comey. Mueller had long served as a mentor to Comey, who would most certainly be a critical witness in any investigation of Donald Trump. Mueller and Comey had also been exceedingly close friends beyond the mentor relationship. But Comey’s insertion of himself into so much of the election cycle and even its aftermath in conversations he had with the President himself made him a critical witness in the investigation. There is no way Mueller could sit in judgment of his dear, close friend’s credibility, and certainly no way he should be allowed to do so.
The law governing the special counsel (28 CFR 600.7) specifically prohibits Mueller from serving if he has a “conflict of interest.” Even the appearance of a conflict is disallowed.
The same Code of Federal Regulations defines what constitutes a conflict. That is, “a personal relationship with any person substantially involved in the conduct that is the subject of the investigation or prosecution” (28 CFR 45.2). A conflict of interest is a situation in which an individual has competing interests or loyalties.

Mueller has no choice but to disqualify himself. The law affords him no discretion because the recusal is mandatory in its language. It does not say “may” or “can” or “might”. It says the special counsel “shall” recuse himself in such instances.
An excellent post by Robert Barnes, a constitutional lawyer, identifies five statutes, regulations and codes of conduct that Mueller is violating because of his conflict of interest with Comey. Byron York, chief political correspondent for the Washington Examiner recounts in detail the close personal relationship between Mueller and Comey which gives rise to the blatant conflict of interest.
Another deeply troubling aspect of Mueller’s conflict of interest is and was his role in the investigation of Russia’s effort to illegally gain control of a substantial part of United States’ precious supply of uranium. That investigation was taking place within the Mueller FBI, which should have had a direct effect on prohibiting Secretary of State Clinton from participating in the approval of the uranium sale into the hands that were ultimately the Russian government.
Of course, then U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein had direct control over that Russia- uranium investigation in conjunction with FBI Director Mueller. It certainly appears that with what they had gleaned from that undercover investigation, they should never have been involved in any subsequent investigation that might touch on potential collusion and millions of dollars paid to the Clinton’s foundation by the very beneficiaries of the Russians' uranium schemes. Rosenstein and Mueller’s failure to warn against or stop the sale reeks of its own form of collusion, cooperation, or capitulation in what some consider a treasonous sale.
Quite the interesting little duo now in charge of all things investigatory surrounding their own actions. In fact, Rosenstein and Mueller are now in a position to dissuade others from pursuing THEM for their own conduct.

GENERAL MICHAEL FLYNN
Michael Flynn is a man who was caught up in manufactured controversy from the moment he stepped into his role in the Trump administration.

As best I can sort it out through the media hype and hysteria, having no first-hand knowledge like the rest of America: after the successful election, during the transition period, in December 2016, Flynn reportedly conversed with a Russian ambassador. He was “accidentally” swept up in an intelligence foreign surveillance recording. When this happens, the names of American citizens are supposed to be masked in the transcripts. Somehow Flynn’s name was magically unmasked, which apparently allowed the Obama administration to peruse his meetings and conversations.
Parts of the classified transcript of that conversation were leaked to the media by rogue Deep State law breakers (criminals who Mueller seems completely disinterested in). This appears to be what fueled the media-driven narrative of Trump campaign “collusion” with Russia because Flynn had a discussion with a Russian ambassador, which conversation is absolutely legal and advisable.
Nine months later after Flynn and his family were subjected to Mueller’s usual threats and intimidation, a financially exhausted Flynn entered a guilty plea on one count of lying to the FBI—the result of a Mueller-technique perjury trap as was used on Scooter Libby and Martha Stewart.
What is Flynn guilty of? He apparently misremembered a conversation that took place 33 days previously…

Mueller seemed to find it much more politically expedient to use the secret court to go after Americans who were part of the Trump team for actions that did not occur while they were part of the Trump campaign team. One could argue that Judge Rudolph Contreras, the federal judge who accepted Flynn’s guilty plea, conveniently misremembered that he also served on the FISA court as a judge and conveniently misremembered his friendship with the FBI agent whose interview was used as evidence against Flynn.
As it turns out, the FBI interview notes of that very encounter with Flynn may exonerate Michael Flynn, crushing Mueller’s case against him, not to mention the highly questionable hearing before a judge who may well have been recused much too late to save the Flynn prosecution.
A FISA JUDGE TOO CLOSE TO THE GOVERNMENT AGENTS INVOLVED
The FISA-authorized FISC is built upon the principle that highly delicate cases dealing with government surveillance of foreign agents and officials would be handled in an unbiased and respectful environment where secrecy at all costs was critical. There is supposed to be an added precaution to prevent any potential for bias in a FISA Judge by having a rotation of judges. That is why it is such a shock to find out now that Mueller’s case against Michael Flynn would happen to end up before the “randomly selected” very dear close personal friend of FBI Special Agent Peter Strzok, who hated President Trump with a passion, as evidenced in his text messages with colleague and paramour, Lisa Page.
U.S. District Court Judge Rudolph Contreras, or “Rudy” as Strzok likes to refer to him, should have recused himself from such a highly sensitive case involving the ultimate attempted removal of the duly-elected President of the United States who happened to be despised by the very people who by law were required to prosecute with fairness. He was later forced to ‘recuse’ himself and be removed from the Flynn proceedings, without public explanation.

This forced recusal was an unmistakable indication that he never should have been involved in the Michael Flynn plea agreement. Judge Contreras’ conflict of interest has yet to be explained by the court.
MUELLER IGNORES APPARENTLY PROVABLE CRIMES INVOLVING THE CLINTON CAMPAIGN, THE FBI, THE FISA COURT, THE INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITIES
Strategically timed leaks of selective classified information are being used to target individuals for investigation in order to create the appearance of some sinister crime having been committed. Upon closer scrutiny, the cases fall apart. Yet, slam dunk federal criminal cases of leaking classified material are going on under Mueller’s nose, and by those within his purview and his team.

The writer goes on to point out that serious crimes have been committed that Mueller is purposefully ignoring. Prince was thrown into the middle of Russiagate after an April 3, 2017, Washington Post story reported his meeting with the Russian banker. After the story came out, Prince said he was shown “specific evidence” by sources from the intelligence community that the information was swept up in the collection of electronic communications and his identity was unmasked. The US official or officials who gave his name to the Post broke the law when they leaked classified intelligence.
Prince’s name was unmasked and leaked from classified signals intelligence. Oddly enough, it’s the same modus operandi used in the targeting of President Donald Trump, Attorney General Jeff Sessions and former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn. It is a federal felony to publish leaked classified information. The Deep State felons who are strategically leaking this information have politically weaponized our justice system making attempts, with malice of forethought, to manufacture the overthrow of a duly- elected President of the United States.

Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, or FISA, created a court called the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) to allow secret warrants to surveil agents of foreign governments, be they U.S. citizens or non-U.S. actors. In October of 2016, the Obama DOJ/FBI successfully applied for one of these secret warrants to surveil Carter Page, a short-time Trump campaign volunteer. Since these warrants against U.S. citizens are outside of the bounds of the Constitution, they have to be renewed by applying to the court every 90 days after the first warrant application is approved. These secret warrants are so serious they have to be signed off on at the highest levels. The applications in question would have been signed off on by Obama administration FBI and DOJ officials including then FBI Director James Comey. At least one of the renewal applications would have been signed off on by our current Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. At the time of signing, they all would have had the knowledge and/or the professional and legal duty to know that the dossier was used as evidence and also had the legal duty to know the evidence origins.
The same would apply to the knowledge of the penalty for submitting unverified information to the FISC for the purpose of obtaining a warrant. It is a crime to submit under the color of law an application to the FISC that contains unverified information. 50 U.S. Code § 1809

Comey’s “salacious and unverified” testimony before the Senate occurred eight months after the Clinton campaign-funded dossier was used in the first successful FISA court application to obtain a surveillance warrant against Carter Page. Ted Williams was John Glenn's wingman flying F-9Fs in Korea.
The Boston Red Sox slugger, who wore No. 9 as a major leaguer, was assigned to an F-9 Panther jet as a pilot. Ted flew a total of 39 combat missions in Korea. He was selected by his commander John Glenn (later the astronaut, senator, and 'septuagenonaut') to fly as Glenn's wingman.
While flying an air strike on a troop encampment near Kyomipo, Williams' F-9 was hit by hostile ground fire. Ted commented later: "The funny thing was I didn't feel anything. I knew I was hit when the stick started shaking like mad in my hands. Then everything went out, my radio, my landing gear, everything. The red warning lights went on all over the plane." The F-9 Panther had a centrifugal flow engine and normally caught fire when hit. The tail would literally blow off most stricken aircraft. The standard orders were to eject from any Panther with a fire in the rear of the plane. Ted's aircraft was indeed on fire, and was trailing smoke and flames. Glenn and the other pilots on the mission were yelling over their radios for Williams to get out.
However, with his radio out, Williams could not hear their warnings and he could not see the condition of the rear of his aircraft. Glenn and another Panther flown by Larry Hawkins came up alongside Williams and lead him to the nearest friendly airfield. Fighting to hold the plane together, Ted brought his Panther in at more than 200-MPH for a crash landing on the Marsden-matted strip. With no landing gear, dive brakes, or functioning flaps, the flaming Panther jet skidded down the runway for more than 3000 feet. Williams got out of the aircraft only moments before it was totally engulfed in flames. Ted Williams survived his tour of duty in Korea and returned to major league baseball.
Pssst: Ted missed out flying combat missions during WW II, because his flying and gunnery skills were so good that he was kept as an instructor for much of the War. During advanced training at Pensacola, Florida Ted would accurately shoot the sleeve targets to shreds while shooting out of wing-overs, zooms, and barrel rolls. He broke the all time record for 'hits' at the school.
Following Pensacola, Ted was sent to Jacksonville for advanced gunnery training. This is the payoff test for potential combat pilots. Ted set all the records for reflexes, coordination, and visual reaction time. As a result of his stunning success he was made an instructor at Bronson field to put Marine aviation cadets through their final paces.
By 1945 Ted got his wish and was finally transferred to a combat wing, but weeks later the War was over. He was discharged from the military in December of 1945. Seven years later, in December of 1952, Ted was recalled to active duty as a Marine Corps fighter pilot.

MINUTES

Wayne called the meeting to order at 6:05 pm. and asked Rob to lead the members in the pledge to the U.S. and Texas flags, Roman Eble provided the invocation in Mike Brigg’s absence.
Wayne, then, introduced our newest members along with State Representative Cole Hefner, our evenings’ speaker. Cole addressed our concerns regarding “The Alamo”, Gun Legislation that failed in the past, Legislation which may pass in the future, and how bills became law.
James asked if all had received our monthly figures, the reports came out late due to Ron Ms’ computer problems. He explained about an expenditure that was on the check register showing were a change was made for petty cash and stamps were purchased.
George Brown was asked to update the web site. He said the newsletter archives are complete to January of 2013, and has added a PayPal donation button to the FOTH donation page, but he continues to experience problems with certain email addresses.
Ron was asked for the Secretary’s report and began by asking for a motion to read the previous month’s minutes. Motion was made by Wayne to accept them as written in the newsletter, motion carried. Ron announced we are working towards a fishing tournament for some time in May, details to follow.
The Hospitality Committee has been formed consisting of Ron Miranda, Ken Schwab, James Morris and James Dugger.
Steve Herbert informed the group at Wednesday’s shoot that the WGC will cut off membership applications with 24 more applicants, until July of 2020.
I have tickets to the Casino Night, March 9th at the Civic Auditorium, $50 for a single and $90 for a couple’s ticket.
We have a Poker night scheduled at Miranda’s Man Cave, February 21st everyone is welcome, and we start about 5 pm.
James added, he had put the numbers together for Ken Watts as to the amount donated by the HAWKS towards our past Scholarships program was $40,000. This amount would help Ken Watts in applying for available grants.
Ron Smith was asked for a Range Report. Ron reported we have $850 to date for expenses and prizes and is expected to increase as the weather improves.
Invite a kid is coming up the first Saturday in March, April and May and we will have a brief coach’s training following the meeting along with instructions on fixing a 10/22 rifle which has plagued us in the past.
Wayne finished by introducing new members Peter Oertwig and Grady Sanders along with Sheriff Tom Castloo and Peter Thieme back from a long illness.

Our state representative Cole Hefner spoke to the Hawks at this month’s meeting. One of the issues he discussed was the convention of states, and possible changes to the US Constitution. The next day I sent him the following letter via email:
Thank you so much for speaking to the HAWKS on Thursday night, Feb. 7, 2019. We members of the Hawks really appreciate all the work you do for this district and for the people of Texas. I would like to comment briefly on the position you took on term limits. I agree with you that term limits are not necessary for members of the House of Representatives, either at a federal or state level since they must face reelection ever two years. Perhaps that same principal would apply to state senators as well, since they face reelection every four years. However, at the federal level, term limits become necessary. United States Senators serve for six years, and after two terms (which amounts to a total of twelve years) they frequently have lost touch with the people who elected them, and become indebted to the special interests.
An even stronger case can be made concerning federal judges who serve lifetime appointments. We frequently see examples of federal judges who ignore the Constitution and impose their personal opinions on the country. I think US Senators should be limited to a total of twelve years in office; and federal judges should be appointed to ten year terms with the president given the option to reappoint the person for one more term if he so chooses. This time frame for federal judges would mean that the president who reappoints them would not be the same president who appointed them to their first term thus creating another check on their performance while in office. And then their total time in office would be only 20 years.
Under our present system, people who serve in elected or appointed office for very long periods of time become insulated from the problems they cause. If they knew they would have to live with the problems they created, they would make better decisions. Mark Levin discusses this issue in his bestselling book, The Liberty Amendments. I apologize for being away from the keyboard for so long; however, time and decay are taking their toll on my body. Results of a too cavalier lifestyle in my youth, I suppose.
I hope all of you took the time to read the current newsletter; I just got to it today. George Brown and his band of elves (Bill Rogers) have embellished the newsletter far beyond what I could have taken it. By his first article on global warming he has done some extensive home work. Some may chide it borders on political, but then what, today doesn't? We eat, sleep and breathe politics, much to our chagrin and in the meantime miss out on what really counts---life.
Before we burn to a crispy critter please give George's article a read and tell him how much we appreciate what he does for the HAWKS. He is quickly approaching saint hood.

Thank you for your kind words Ron. I too had misgivings about the global warming article because of its political nature. But as you said, in today’s world, what isn’t political. When I was young I was told to never discuss religion or politics, but you can talk about the weather; that is always non-controversial. Not true today. Everything, even the weather seems to be political. The people who are pushing global warming are the very same people who trying to take our guns away. And now there is a new issue that just appeared last week. These same people get apopletic when other people dress up in blackface, but they think it is OK to murder newborn babies. Could anyone be more evil? Is there any way a person can be more despicable? I don’t want them to approve of what I do. If they like what I am doing, I know I am doing something wrong. I will have more on the vicious nature of the global warming crowd in a future part of the editorial, but for now part II is below.
SCIENTIFIC FRAUD (PART II) BY GEORGE BROWN
Last month I demonstrated that in spite what the climate change alarmists say, we are not currently experiencing global warming. I also described that while the climate changes frequently, since these changes started occurring long before the appearance of the human species on earth, these changes cannot be driven by human induced factors. In spite of these facts the climate hustlers won’t give up their constant yammering about how we humans are destroying the planet.
The reasoning behind their false belief is based on the production of carbon dioxide, which is a greenhouse gas. A greenhouse gas will act something like a blanket to hold in the heat of the earth. While it is true that carbon dioxide (CO2) is a greenhouse gas, it is a very weak greenhouse gas, and it is not very abundant in our atmosphere. Water vapor is by far the strongest greenhouse gas, and is much more abundant that CO2. If we managed to eliminate all the CO2 in our atmosphere it would eliminate only a very small percentage of the greenhouse gasses present, and the effect on global temperature would be negligible.
CO2 is a natural byproduct of oxidation. When a gasoline engine burns fuel it creates CO2 and the gas exits the engine into the atmosphere. When your body processes the food that you eat, it creates CO2 in a similar manner, and it is expelled from your body by your lungs when you exhale or with sweat when you perspire. Thus because of our advanced technological civilization and large global population, the global warming crowd believes that there is more atmospheric CO2 than ever before. Thus we need to inhibit its production to keep the earth from overheating. Is this really true?
Recent studies in the Greenland ice cap indicate that this concept is very misguided. When snow falls and is accumulated on the ground in a cold country like Greenland it never melts. Over the years it piles up in distinct layers, one layer for each year, so that the number of years it has been there can be easily determined. These layers of snow contain tiny bubbles of trapped air that represent what the clmate was like when they were trapped. There is a continuous record in Greenland for about 12,000 years. Climate scientists can then excavate ice cores and analyze them to determine what the atmosphere was like at the time when the snow first accumulated. When these bubbles are analyzed they show that the carbon dioxide level was higher in pre industrial years than it is today.
This analysis of these bubbles of air also tells us that while it is true that there is a link between atmospheric carbon dioxide and the average temperature of the earth, the warming precedes the CO2 increase. The sequence of events works as follows. Most of the earth’s CO2 is dissolved in the ocean. As the earth becomes warmer, ocean water evaporates and releases the CO2 it contains, thus increasing the amount of atmospheric CO2. This analysis of the Greenland ice cap shows that the earth warms up first, then the atmospheric CO2 increases, not the other way around. The time lag between the temperature increase and the CO2 increase averages about 800 years.
In spite of all this evidence, the global warming crowd persists with their yammering. Bill Gates is attempting to develop a process whereby he can strip all the CO2 from the atmosphere. If he is successful, he will have almost no effect on the average temperature of the earth, but all life on earth will be exterminated. CO2 is essential for plants to grow and produce the food that we eat. All the green plants in the world would die if they could not ingest CO2. Then all the plant eating animals would perish, and next all the animals that eat these animals (and this includes humans) would perish. Some sources suggest that agricultural products are suffering because currently we are undergoing a shortage of CO2. I certainly hope that Gates is unsuccessful with his CO2 scrubber.

It continues after his death, describing the Islamic conquests and defeats in Africa, Spain and Europe up until the present day. It is a fairly long book, as it takes Spenser 371 pages to discuss all this.
The author, Robert Spencer (who is a Christian of the Greek Orthodox persuasion) is one of the world’s leading authorities on Islam and the Koran. Indeed, he has memorized most of the Islamic scriptures, and can quote chapter and verse at will. In this book he documents all the lies, fraud, deceit, violence, and terrorism that Muhammad used to enable his rise to power; and he shows how his followers have continued to use these tactics to this very day. Anyone who thinks that we can ever trust these people, or ever have a meaningful peace with them should read this book. If you think president Trump is wrong to try to keep these people out of the country, then you should read this book. If you only read one book for the rest of your life, this should be the book.

HAWKS’ Business Meeting for January, 2019

Rob began with the pledge to the U.S. and Texas flags.
Wayne opened the meeting asking for health concerns, being none moved to ask Mike for the Invocation.
Ron M. was, then asked to introduce Jacki Seabrooks, Police Chief retired of Santa Monica, Ca. After introducing herself and providing us with a brief background of her career, she fielded questions ranging from the border wall, to sanctuary cities, to armed citizens and finally her encounters with many “bad guys”. She was, also chief of Englewood, Ca. PD and described the differences in the two cities and their problems. The HAWKS began 2019 with a home run with regards to guest speakers, our many thanks go out to Jacki for her presentation.
Item 1: Wayne introduced Greg Bova as the club’s new information officer, who will fill the vacancy left by Wayne Scott being elected president.
Item 2: James asked if there were any questions regarding the financial statement sent to the members, there were none.
Item 3: George is implementing a new page in the newsletter asking for tips from the members. It can be on guns, ammo, gear or any subject that will lend information to the members.
Item 4: Ron discussed the pros and cons of the Christmas party held at Richie’s. All in all it was a success but will require some tweaking if the club decides to hold more events there. Any solutions and suggestions will be deferred to the soon to be established Hospitality Committee. We have eight months before we are faced with a club sponsored event, such as this.
Item 5: Ron promoted Debra Jared’s “Women and Firearms” to be held in the same room at the bank, that the HAWKS use for our meetings. Please inform the women in your lives about this event to be held on January 10th from 5 pm to 8 pm.
To remind the new members, I have caps for sale at $10 each and shirts priced per item.
Poker night is scheduled for February 21st at Miranda’s Man Cave beginning about 5 pm. This is not a HAWKS’ event and anyone wishing to bring a friend, neighbor or any of our new members are welcome.
Bob Williams has alerted us to the “save the Alamo” campaign to keep from turning our state’s most memorable land mark into a theme park. Representative Cole Hefner has been invited to be our February speaker on this subject.
Finally, Ron asked for volunteers for the Hospitality Committee to help with any of the club’s social events.
Item 6: The shooters committee has raised close to $700, so far, by the Wednesday shooters, which will be used for prizes for the participants in next year gifts. Ron said he is opening the committee for new participants by contacting him and per our by-laws we must, on the first of April, re-evaluate the shooting committee. A shooting committee meeting is scheduled for January 24th at 8:30 AM., at Richie’s as a planning session for the coming year including any rule changes for the tournament. Ron asked for volunteers for the March, April and May “kid’s shoot” which is the old “rim fire shoot” in the past.
Item 7: Roman informed the club the structure for the 501 c/3 was complete and their intentions were to raise $5,000 for 2019. He followed by having an auction on an easel and a gun rack. The auction raised $45 for the FOTH.
Item 8: Jimmy Chiles expressed Doug’s thanks for the VIP’s service during 2018.
Item 9: Ron M. announced another casino night was coming up in March and he would announce the dates as soon as they are firm.
Item 10: Wayne announced the Friends of the NRA banquet on March 23rd benefiting Texas youth shooters and 4-H programs, in addition grants to aid the WPD and the WISD have come through in the past.
James Morris moved the meeting be closed as there was no more business to come before the club, and the January meeting was closed.

FIRST GUEST SPEAKER OF 2019 STARTS THE YEAR OFF RIGHT

SCIENTIFIC FRAUD BY GEORGE BROWN
Beginning this month I am going to start a multipart series about the greatest scientific fraud in the history of this country, anthropogenic global warming. Anthropogenic global warming is the belief that the earth is currently experiencing a dangerous warming trend, that this warming will continue until the earth becomes uninhabitable, and this climate change is caused entirely by human activity. Anthropogenic global warming is a very complex matrix of interwoven errors and lies. Over the next few months I intend to discuss these errors and lies, beginning this month with the question, “Is the earth actually experiencing a warming trend.”
According to conventional dating systems, about 65 million years ago a large asteroid crashed into Mexico, causing widespread destruction. When the carnage ended all the dinosaurs were dead and the Eocene epoch began. During this epoch the earth was much warmer than it is today. It was so warm that there were palm trees growing inside the Artic circle. However, there were no humans around then to cause the warming and certainly no heavy industry.
In the years since the Eocene epoch started with a bang, the earth has warmed up and cooled off many times. During medieval times the earth was again much warmer than it is today. Then around 1650 another severe cold spell started known as the little ice age, which lasted until around 1800. More recently during the dust bowl days of the 1930’s we had a warmer climate than we do today. The 1970’s were cool, and then during the 1980’s we started to warm up again. So at the beginning of the current global warming scare, we actually were undergoing a warming period, however that warming period peaked in 1999, and since then we have been cooling off again. We are now in a cooling cycle which some climatologists say could last until about 2035.
The point of the above discussion is to show that these are natural cycles, probably controlled by the sun and have very little to do with human activity. In the next few newsletters I will discuss several other aspects of the global warming belief. All of them are founded on errors and lies and I intend to expose them for what they are. If anyone wants to comment on this subject, I will be happy to print your comments in the next newsletter, whether or not they agree or disagree with my position.
TIPS YOU CAN USE BY GEORGE BROWN
The tip I have for you this month is a report on a book I just finished reading. The book is titled Liars, Leakers, and Liberals by Judge Jeanine Pirro. This is a feel good book written by the Fox News anchor Jeanine Pirro. She has been a personal friend of Donald Trump for several years dating back to a time before he began his campaign for the presidency. The book has a small amount of insider information concerning her interactions with the president and his family, but if you watch Fox News you will get very litle new information about major political events. Judge Jeanine has nothing bad to say about Trump or any of his family, so if you like Trump, you will probably enjoy reading this book, but if you don't like the president I don't think this book will change your mind.
GUN FREE ZONES
Bill Rogers submitted a graph showing where mass public shootings take place. This proves the futility of establishing gun free zones.
BUMP STOCKS

Bump Stocks Now-- So What's Next?
With President Trump's knowledge the Department of Justice and BATFE reversed an earlier decision and reclassified the device called a bump stock.
Machine guns have long been defined as allowing the shooter to discharge more than one bullet per trigger pull. Full-auto machine guns must be registered in advance of ownership as per National Firearms Act of 1934.
This rule change goes beyond National Firearms Act restrictions.
Gun owners will not have the "option" of purchasing a registered bump stock.
The purchasers and owners of these once approved devices are being required to destroy them or turn-in bump stocks. Adding insult to injury, there is no "grandfather clause" and no offer of compensation.
If bump stocks are not turned in or destroyed the owner will be breaking federal law.
The change to federal law did not go through Congress and as written appears to be within the rule-making authority of BATFE and the DOJ unless stopped by President Trump or Congress.
TSRA strongly opposes this over-reach by a Federal agency.
What will it be next time, a style of firearm, a size or type of ammunition, or another gun part?
Will you be a criminal if you simply attach a rubber-band between the belt-loop on your jeans and your rifle stock? TSRA members tell me this is a long practiced way to speed up trigger pull.
